Chapter 15
Only after the last drop of blood had been drawn and there was nothing left to torture her with did Knox allow the doctors to treat Elena. Since they acted in time, Elena didn’t have any major issues, but the moment she opened her eyes and saw Knox, she screamed like she was looking at a demon.
“Knox! Let me go, let me go! I know I was wrong, I’ll apologize to Mara, it’s all my fault!”
Knox nodded slightly, satisfied–this was exactly the script he’d planned from the beginning. Only when Elena admitted her mistakes and stopped bullying Mara would she have a change of heart and come back to him.
But there was still one more thing.
Knox looked at her.
“Since you know you were wrong, you can stay in solitary confinement until Mara comes back.”
Hearing those words, Elena froze for a moment, then started struggling frantically, crying and screaming.
“No! Don’t put me in solitary, Knox, Knox!”
But her struggles didn’t earn her any room for negotiation. Knox was annoyed by her noise and had her thrown into the solitary cell, the heavy door slamming shut and cutting off her last bit of hope.
The solitary cell was pitch black, and she had to eat, drink, and relieve herself in that tiny cage. A person would go insane after just one day in there.
Knox didn’t spare Elena another thought. He loosened his tie, irritation still creasing his brow.
“Still haven’t found her?”
His assistant stepped forward. “Not yet. I’m sorry, Mr. Knox.”
With a loud crash, Knox smashed a vase that was within reach.
He ignored the blood flowing from his fingers and spoke coldly.
“Then keep looking. Don’t come back until you find her.”
Blood dripped from his palm to the floor. The assistant’s head hung even lower as he hurried out, and even the house staff didn’t dare speak loudly.
They all knew that ever since Mara left, Knox’s temper had gotten worse each day, and they were terrified of getting caught in the crossfire.
Knox took a deep breath, ignoring the servants‘ frightened expressions, and drove alone to a bar.

99 Divorces Later. I Married His Rival He Couldn’t Touch!
Chapter 15
He got a private room and ordered a case of liquor, downing it gulp by gulp. Only this way could he ease the pain in
his heart.
His buddies heard he was at the bar and came over to sit with him.
“Knox, it’s just Mara leaving, right? She was always being such a drama queen, begging to get back together every time. Even though you guys actually got divorced this time, she’ll probably cave and come crawling back in a few days.”
“Yeah, everyone knows Mara can’t live without you.”
They joked around, but only Knox knew that he was the one who couldn’t live without Mara.
From the moment she started chasing him, he couldn’t live without her.
Knox let out a bitter laugh and took another swig.
Seeing that their comfort wasn’t helping, the guys exchanged glances and finally asked in confusion.
“Knox, you brought up divorce to Mara so many times. Now that you’re actually divorced, shouldn’t you be happy?”
His hand tightened around the bottle, not knowing how to express the dark, twisted satisfaction in his heart.
Every time he saw her clumsy attempts, he wanted to watch a little longer, so he deliberately strung her along, refusing her pursuit until after graduation when he finally married her. But even after marriage, he hadn’t changed his old habits. He liked watching Mara get anxious over him–only then could his heart feel satisfied. He’d brought up divorce 99 times, and Mara had begged him each and every time, until the 100th time when he truly lost her.
Thinking about it made his heart feel like it was being stabbed, leaving him breathless.
But someone beside him was still muttering.
“Plus I think Elena’s pretty great too–obedient and understanding. If you’re really sick of Mara, fooling around with
Elena wouldn’t be bad either.”
At the mention of Elena, Knox, who hadn’t shown much emotion before, suddenly gripped his bottle tightly.
“Don’t mention Elena in front of me.”
His hoarse voice startled everyone.
They all knew Elena was Knox’s childhood friend who’d been by his side all these years without him ever getting annoyed. Not only that, Knox’s attitude toward Elena compared to Mara was like night and day. People used to joke that Knox really loved Elena, and he’d never denied it. So why was he suddenly so disgusted by her now?
The private room fell quiet for a moment, but someone still couldn’t resist asking.
“Knox, did… did something happen?”
