- Can’t Let Go
She could neither control her own shift or move a muscle. She didn’t know how much time had passed when the sound of many footsteps registered in her ears.
“KESHTON!!” Glen’s voice boomed in the room as he rushed in with a group of other pack members.
All of them stood there stunned for a couple of seconds, finding the whole room painted with blood. The two large wolves were fighting in the room and the scene unfolding in front of them was like the world was soon coming to end.
Keshton’s wolf had broken a few of Joseph’s ribs, dislocated his jaw, and was aiming for his eyes next.
Glen broke into a panic at the sight and rushed over to Keshton. “Keshton, you are going to kill him!!” he yelled at the top of his lungs to make sure his voice could surpass their vicious growls.
Keshton’s claws stopped an inch away from Joseph’s fearful wolf’s eyes. Glaring at his wretched opponent, Keshton barely controlled himself from finishing the filth in front of him and shifted back into his human form.
Everyone’s eyes were stuck on Keshton’s bloody body that stood tall, seemingly unperturbed by the brutal wounds that marred his skin. “Isolate him, hang him from the wall, and cut off his hands all while making sure that he does not die,” he glanced over his shoulder at Glen.
Aries, who was running down the hallway, spotted Joseph’s bloody, broken body being dragged out of the room. His heart drummed at the sight–not out of sympathy, but out of dread for Sibyl.
“Sibyl!” he called, desperately storming into the room, only to find her wolf form lying on the floor with her eyes closed. One glance made it clear what Joseph had done to her.
Aries‘ heart threatened to burst in pain at the sight of her condition. With a tear in his eye, he ran towards her, “Sibyl!!”
However, his feet came to an abrupt halt when he saw Keshton kneeling next to Sibyl.
Keshton gently picked up her white wolf, cradling her in his arms. Groaning in pain and with the corners of her eyes wet with tears, she kept her eyes closed.
Keshton’s hands shook violently with emotion, unable to bear seeing her tears, he hugged her tightly.
Trace, standing behind Glen and Aries, witnessed everything that had taken place in that room and was frozen like them. No noise was made, and no one could tear their eyes from the scene before them. Keshton,
with Sibyl in his arms, exited the room, passing by the three of them without a word.
As Keshton carried Sibyl down the hallway, the silence was palpable, the air thick with the aftermath of violence and the weight of what had transpired. However, Aries rooted in place, clenched his fists unable to
bear Sibyl being snatched by Keshton once again.
Stepping into the woods, Keshton glanced down at Sibyl, who was slowly stirring in his arms. With the
familiar the warmth that always made her feel safe and protected, she began to shift back into her human
form.
Sibyl slowly opened her eyes. Keshton looked at her unfocused eyes, realizing that she was blind. His heart squeezed in his chest at the sight of her like that and he pulled her closer to his chest. He did not say a word,

but Sibyl could hear his Intense heartbeat, which mirrored her own.
“Where are you taking me?” she asked, her breathing unstable and weak.
After a moment, Keshton replied, “I am not taking you anywhere. I am going with you.”
Sibyl’s heart skipped a beat. “You are coming with me?”
“If you can’t come with me into my world, then I will walk into yours,” Keshton said, looking down at her face, I will follow you anywhere, even if it is Hell.”
Sibyl froze in his arms, shocked. “Why?” she whispered, her heart beating so fast it felt like it would burst.
In the next moment, she felt his soft lips brush hers. Surprised, Sibyl held her breath, feeling his sudden yet gentle kiss as he whispered, “Because I can’t let you go. Because I can’t stop looking for you. Because I can’t stop loving you.”
A pool of tears gathered in Sibyl’s blind eyes at his words. As soon as her tears rolled down her cheeks and fell to the ground, the moon appeared in the sky. Its light banished all the darkness, including the one in Sibyl’s eyes. As the moonlight fell on her eyes, she could see everything clearly once again.
A pair of beautiful, love–filled amber eyes locked with hers, and her wolf screamed in her mind, “Mate!”
