Chapter 151
Chapter 151
Joanna was slightly taken aback when Zack’s homeroom teacher praised her,
at all. “Saved an elderly lady last night?” she wondered, confused. But she hadn’t saved anyone
Though puzzled inside, Joanna played along with the teacher, offering a polite smile. “Oh, it was nothing really–just a trivial matter, not worth mentioning at all.”
Since Joanna had always attended Zack’s parent–teacher conferences in the past, the homeroom teacher had mistakenly assumed she was his mother.
And whenever Joanna attended a parent–teacher meeting, she never denied it.
The homeroom teacher smiled warmly at her and said, “You really are such a kind person. The school administration has decided to award you and Zack a Mother–Son Heroism Certificate for your selfless act, and we’ll be highlighting this exemplary deed.”
Joanna stole a glance at Zack, who sat beside her with his head bowed in silence, secretly pleased with herself.
“I’ve always dreamed of being Zack’s mother that everyone envies, and now, it feels like I’m finally one step closer to that dream,‘ she wondered.
“She’s not my mom,” Zack suddenly spoke up, his cute voice ringing with unexpected firmness.
He was just a kid who wanted recognition like anyone else, but he wouldn’t lie just to gain honor. After all, Joanna wasn’t his mom.
“Joanna, you saved that person,” Zack said. “I shouldn’t share the credit with you, and I can’t call you my mom just because of it.”
His mom was Sylvia–just as kind, she had helped many with her medical skills, though no one at school knows.
Joanna’s face burned with humiliation. She shot Zack a fierce glare, cursing him inwardly, ‘That ungrateful brat is too much. Just like Sylvia, both of them
are worthless.‘
Joanna thought bitterly, ‘Sylvia’s only just come back, and Zack’s already forgotten all the good I’ve done for her. How ungrateful.‘
Byron ruffled Zack’s hair approvingly, a glimmer of pride in his eyes. “You didn’t let vanity cloud your judgment. Well done.”
Just then, the principal of Francisco Memorial School waddled over, his round belly sticking out and beaming broadly. “Zack, your mom did such a wonderful thing. She’s a role model for all the parents at our school.”
Everyone turned to look. Standing beside the principal was none other than Sylvia.
“Your mom saved an elderly lady last night. She was so busy taking care of her at the hospital that she nearly missed your parent–teacher meeting.
“The lady even came to explain things to me personally, asking me not to blame your mom,” Beaming with pride, the principal said.
Zack’s homeroom teacher was stunned. It finally dawned on her that the woman beside the principal was his real mother.
Her face flushed crimson as she turned to Joanna. “I’m so sorry. I was mistaken. I thought you were Zack’s mother.”
Joanna was utterly mortified, her eyes blazing with resentment. She couldn’t believe that Sylvia was the one who saved the elderly lady.
Zack raced over to Sylvia, his eyes wide with surprise and delight. “Mom, are you here for my parent–teacher meeting?”
Sylvia smiled warmly and nodded at her son. Sylvia was also surprised that Casey had already reported the rescue to the school administration.
Upon hearing this, Sylvia turned to Casey and said gently, “Don’t move around too much. You don’t want to hurt your injured leg any further, right? Just wait for me in the car, okay?”
Zack’s big eyes darted around before he tilted his little face up and asked eagerly, “Sir, didn’t you say you’d give my mom and me an award certificate?

When will we get it?”
At first, Zack thought Joanna was the one who did the good deed, so he didn’t want to claim undeserved credit. But now that he knew it was his mom This honor rightfully belonged to her. Of course he wanted it.
Because he was her son, and they were family.
“Alright. No problem. We’ll give you the award certificate as soon as it’s ready. Your mom is a role model for all the parents here, so you should learn from her,” the principal said with a smile.
Zack thought for a moment, then flashed a bright grin and said, “Sir, could you make another certificate? I have a little sister who wants one too.”
Listening from the side, Sylvia couldn’t help but let a wry smile twitch at her lips. ‘I’d just earned a bit of recognition as a mom,‘ she thought, and Zack is already scheming to snag some for himself and his sister.‘
The principal readily agreed, then approached Byron and said respectfully, “Mr. Blair, what an honor to have you here.”
The principal knew Zack only because of Byron, Silverton’s infamous Tyrant, also a billionaire.
The principal never expected Byron’s long–absent wife to show up at today’s parent–teacher meeting.
What was more, Sylvia was so compassionate. She set aside her status and personally rescued an elderly pedestrian who had been hit by a car.
Zack’s homeroom teacher had the same thought, but when she got a clear look at Sylvia, her eyes lit up. She blurted out in surprise, “Oh my, are you
Master Cameron, the owner of Cerulean Entertainment?”
Sylvia turned her head slightly, looking a little puzzled. “Yeah? What’s up?”
After all, Sylvia had been all over social media lately, so getting recognized was only natural.
“Oh my god, it really is you,” the homeroom teacher exclaimed excitedly. “My husband just started at your company. He’s one of your employees now. And I’m a huge fan. I absolutely love all your books.”
At this point, the homeroom teacher’s cheeks flushed slightly. She hesitated, then asked shyly, “Ms. Sullivan, may I take a photo with you?”
Sylvia couldn’t help but let out a wry smile. She never expected to run into one of her own fans here, of all places.
She nodded and stood next to the homeroom teacher for a photo. Then she said sincerely, “Madam, I hope you can pay a little extra attention to Zack in
the future.”
“Rest assured. I’ll make sure to give him the best guidance possible,” the teacher promised earnestly.
Sylvia thought for a moment, then gave her phone number to the homeroom teacher. “Honestly, I’m not too concerned about his grades. He’s already working really hard.
“But if anything ever comes up with him at school, I’d really appreciate it if you could let me know right away.”
The homeroom teacher nodded to herself, wondering, ‘Now that’s what a real mother sounds like. Unlike Joanna, who always showed up to parent- teacher meetings all dolled up, barely paying attention to Zack, as if she were just there for a fashion show.’
“Byron, you should go. I’ll handle Zack’s parent–teacher meeting,” Sylvia said firmly, locking eyes with him.
The principal and the homeroom teacher’s jaws dropped, clearly taken aback.
Even though Sylvia was Byron’s wife, her attitude was shockingly overbearing. She was basically ordering him around right in front of everyone.
Just moments ago, Joanna had felt utterly humiliated, but now, a spark flashed in her eyes.
‘Is Sylvia daring to challenge Byron’s authority now?‘ Joanna thought, her eyes gleaming with anticipation.

Byron’s eye twitched. Sylvia had embarrassed him in front of everyone, and his pride stung. Instinctively, he wanted to refuse
“Are you leaving or not? Do you really want to push me to the edge?” Sylvia added.
This was Sylvia’s real thought. With Joanna always clinging to Byron, every sight of her brought back that deliberate motorcycle hit–and–run, making her fury impossible to contain.
Byron was about to lose his temper, but when he noticed Sylvia genuinely seething, his anger
vanished instantly.
He shrugged offhandedly and said, “Well, I do have some business to attend to anyway. You can handle Zack’s parent–teacher meeting.”
IfI can’t stand up to her, at least I can walk away,‘ he thought wryly.
At this moment, the principal and homeroom teacher stood frozen in shock, utterly speechless for what felt like an eternity.
