Chapter 163
When Sylvia heard that Byron wanted her to examine Wade, she hesitated for a moment but ultimately agreed. “When?“.
“Tonight.” A smile instantly spread across Byron’s face, his deep–set eyes lighting up as gazed at Sylvia.
‘She’s going to the Colon residence because of him, Byron thought to himself, a hint of satisfaction flickering in his eyes. Though Sylvia often says one thing and means another, deep down she still holds a special place for me,
Sylvia caught the smug smile on Byron’s face and instantly knew he was overthinking again. She rolled her eyes at him and said, “I’m off. See you tonight for the Colon family visit.”
Without Byron accompanying her, Sylvia wouldn’t have been able to enter the Colon residence at all.
The Colon family were all troublemakers. If not for Wade’s will bequeathing most of the family fortune to Freddy and her mother, Wade would have been killed by his family long ago.
After leaving the Blair Group, Sylvia called Freddy from her car. “Freddy, come with me to the Colon residence tonight. Your father might not make it through the night.”
After all, Freddy was Wade’s son. Sylvia figured that upon hearing his father was critically ill, Freddy would agree without hesitation.
“No way,” Freddy said. To her surprise, Freddy flat–out refused and instantly hung up.
Sylvia sighed helplessly and tried calling Freddy again, but his phone was already switched off.
Freddy harbored deep–seated resentment toward Wade for what had happened years ago.
He remained on set, Sylvia’s call leaving him deeply unsettled.
Ever since he and his mother left the Colon family, he wanted nothing to do with them. He refused to hear anything about the Colon family and no longer considered himself one of them.
Just then, Freddy looked up without thinking and saw a tall, striking man walk in through the studio doors, none other than Zander,
The moment Freddy saw the man, his eyes lit up, barely able to contain his excitement.
The man standing before him was none other than Zander, the idol Freddy had admired for years.
Unable to contain his excitement, Freddy blurted out, “Hi, Zander.”
But after shouting, his face turned crimson and he quickly shut his mouth.
Zander walked in, looking every bit the movie star in his impeccably tailored suit. His athletic build and chiseled jawline gave him a striking presence, while his deep–set eyes held an irresistible magnetism that seemed to draw people in.
Zander recognized Freddy because he had seen him during a previous video call with Sylvia. “Freddy?” Zander called out tentatively,
Freddy was a bit stunned. He had always thought that when Sylvia was video chatting with Zander, she was just using some kind of Al deepfake and wasn’t actually talking to the real Zander.
“So Zander actually knows me,” Freddy thought in astonishment. “That means Sylvia really does know Zander.”
Before he could overthink it, Freddy hurried over, started to reach out for a handshake with Zander, but then awkwardly pulled his hand back and scratched his head. “H–Hi, Mr. Gage,” he stammered.
Zander let out a hearty laugh and gave Freddy’s hand a firm, warm shake. “Freddy, did Sylvia bring you to the set?” he asked.

Freddy nodded, finally convinced that Sylvia really knew Zander.
Zander scanned the set and asked, “Is Sylvia here?”
Shaking his head, Freddy said, “She just left. She had something to take care of.”
Zander hadn’t seen Sylvia in ages. He figured she was probably at the office. Since he didn’t have any scenes to shoot right now, Zander figured it was good time to go look for Sylvia.
After glancing at Freddy, Zander asked with a smile, “Freddy, how about coming with me to check out the company?”
“Really? Can I?” Freddy asked excitedly, his eyes lighting up.
“Of course. You’ll even get to meet our awesome CEO. Who knows, she might even sign you on,” Zander said with an encouraging smile.
Freddy’s excitement soared.
Zander gave Freddy a ride to Cerulean Entertainment. Together, they took the elevator to the fifth floor.
As Freddy stepped through the office doors, an inexplicable nervousness gripped him. ‘I’m about to meet the boss,’ he thought, instinctively smoothing down his clothes to make a good impression.
Cerulean Entertainment had recently signed several new talents, and the staff in the lobby were busy working.
Zander led Freddy to the inner office and knocked on the door, asking playfully, “Hey, mind if we come in?”
“Come on in,” a pleasant feminine voice answered with a laugh from inside.
Hearing the voice, Freddy froze for a moment. ‘Why does the boss’s voice sound so familiar?‘ he wondered.
He followed Zander into the office, looked up, and froze, his eyes widening in shock at the woman seated behind the desk.
Never in his wildest dreams did Freddy expect that the person sitting behind the desk would be Sylvia.
“Mr. Gage, you don’t mean her, do you?” Freddy asked in astonishment, his eyes wide with disbelief.
“Wait? You didn’t know?” Zander looked genuinely puzzled. He’d assumed that since Freddy was with Sylvia, Freddy would’ve already known who she
really was.
Freddy shook his head helplessly and said, “I’m only just finding out now.”
It finally dawned on Freddy. No wonder everyone on set listened to Sylvia so obediently; she was the boss all along.
Sylvia was surprised to see Freddy arrive with Zander. Smiling, she rose from behind her desk and came forward to personally pour coffee for both of
them.
Sylvia grinned from the sofa opposite and teased, “Freddy, you finally met your idol. Wasn’t that awesome? Don’t you
Freddy ducked his head, cheeks flushing as he stammered shyly, “Th–thank you.”
you owe me a thank you?”
Crossing her long legs, Sylvia’steered the conversation back on track. With a playful smile, she said, “Since you owe me, how about coming with me to the Colon residence tonight?”
Freddy shot up from his seat, his voice tight with emotion as he looked up and exclaimed, “No way.”
Sylvia had expected all of this. She didn’t get angry; instead, she calmly gave Zander a meaningful glance.
“Zander,” Sylvia said, “take it from here. Talk some sense into him and get him to come with me tonight.”

With that, Sylvia left the office.
No matter how stubborn Freddy was, with his idol Zander personally doing the persuading, it was practically a done deal.
Just as expected, about ten minutes later, Zander emerged from the office.
Sylvia looked up at Zander and asked, “How’d it go?”
Zander flashed a charming smile and said, “Mission accomplished.”
Sylvia returned to the office and saw Freddy sitting on the sofa, head lowered. She said gently, “Your father is on his last legs. No matter how much you’ve hated him before, you should at least go see him one last time.”
After a brief silence, Freddy finally looked up and said quietly, “Yeah, I know. I’ll go with you.”
As evening fell, Sylvia drove Freddy to the gates of the Colon residence.
Yvonne had been waiting at the entrance, though the one she was expecting was Byron. As she spotted a car approaching, Yvonne hurried over.
“Mr. Blair, I heard you were coming to see my father tonight. The whole family’s been waiting for you.” No sooner had Yvonne spoken than the car door swung open–and out stepped Sylvia.
Yvonne’s welcoming smile froze, her face instantly darkening.
