Chapter 172
Sylvia had been on her way out of the restaurant when Byron mentioned Shadow.
The name stopped her dead in her tracks. She wasn’t leaving now.
Byren watched her, a flicker of interest in his eyes.
Clearly, the legendary Al genius, Shadow, held a powerful allure for everyone.
“Good,” he said smoothly. “Since you’re staying, let’s have lunch. Afterward, I’ll take you to meet her.”
Sylvia shot him a glare but reluctantly followed him back to the table.
A smile touched Byron’s handsome face as he watched her sit down.
This was the first time they had shared a meal since their divorce, and he was savoring the moment.
He summoned the waiter and ordered an impressive spread.
But despite the lavish meal, Sylvia only picked at a side of vegetables.
“Why aren’t you eating anything else?” Byron asked, confused.
Sylvia’s expression turned icy. “After all these years, you still don’t even know what I like to eat. And you want to talk about getting back together? That’s some wishful thinking, Byron.”
Color flooded his handsome face.
Though annoyed, Byron still called the waiter back. “Tell me what you want. I’ll have them make it for you.”
Sylvia glanced at her watch. “It’s getting late. Shouldn’t we be on our way to meet Shadow?”
Byron tugged at his tie in frustration. Every time he tried to breach the topic of their relationship, she deflected.
“Fine. Let’s go,” he snapped, heading out to his car. The driver pulled away immediately.
Sylvia got into her own car and followed him to the airport.
Byron stood near the arrivals gate. As a flight from overseas landed, his eyes fixed on the crowd.
“There’s Shadow,” he said, a faint smirk playing on his lips as he pointed.
A young woman with striking features and sleek, dark hair, dressed in a sharp black suit, was walking out of the terminal.
Byron had already done his research and gotten a picture of her.
He knew that many of Silverton’s most powerful figures were vying for an audience with the Al pioneer.
At that very moment, a crowd of executives rushed into the terminal, holding signs to welcome Shadow, though

Meanwhile, inside a hotel’s private dining room, Sylvia sat on a sofa, looking displeased.
Cheryl, what are you doing in Silverton?” she asked, her gaze fixed on the assistant who had just walked in.
Cheryl managed a weak smile. “Boss, the company took on a domestic order. I’m here to develop an Al chip for a client.*
#hadn’t been for Byron, Sylvia wouldn’t have even known her own employee was in town. As soon as they left the airport, she had called Cheryl and told her to meet at this restaurant immediately.
