Chapter 417
Night fell, and dark clouds covered the sky, casting a gloom that made it seem as if the world could barely draw breath.
In Syntherra, Gregory stood on the observation deck, overlooking the financial hub he had built. One of the towers was engulfed in flames, smoke billowing relentlessly into the sky.
The wailing of police sirens, fire trucks, and ambulances echoed through the air.
Before long, the blaze was finally brought under control. In the cold darkness, only scattered embers still glowed faintly.
“Mr. Sinclair, they’ve put out the fire. Thankfully, there were no casualties,” Martin reported as he rushed over.
Gregory nodded slightly, his eyes fixed on the still–smoldering building, his expression grim and unreadable.
“It wasn’t enough for them to tamper with the construction materials and incite chaos among the workers, so they resorted to arson? This is outrageous!” Theo exclaimed, seething with anger.
“The chaos was probably just a diversion. They knew we’d rush to the construction site. That gave them the chance to slip someone into the tower and set it on fire.”
“Have the arsonists been caught?” Gregory asked coldly.
“Yes, they’re in custody now,” Martin replied, handing over a report.
“Here are their statements. All of them are saying the same thing that it was just a random act of revenge against society.” Theo frowned. “Revenge against society? Seriously? Could they lie better than that? This was clearly intentional!”
Martin agreed, but the suspects had obviously rehearsed their story and were skilled at evading questioning. For now, it was difficult to extract anything more from them.
He looked at Gregory with a hint of hesitation.
“Since they’re saying the same thing, take them down one by one,” Gregory said, narrowing his eyes slightly. “Have someone go tell each of them that their accomplices have already confessed and are pushing all the blame onto them.”
“Sow discord and let them turn on each other.” Adrian nodded in agreement. Then, he looked at Gregory. “What do we do next?” “Head back to the Sinclair residence.”
Gregory glanced toward the direction of Castenea and stated bluntly, “Syntherra was just a part of their diversion plan.“/
The purpose was to prevent him from making it to tomorrow’s ceremony to appoint him as the head of the family officially.
It was only then that Theo realized how serious the situation really was. “We need to get moving fast, then.”
“You stay. Adrian and I will handle the situation in Castenea.”
Theo paused for a moment but didn’t argue.
“Are we going straight to the Sinclair residence? Aren’t you going Home first?” Adrian asked, noticing Gregory checking his phone now and then, as if waiting for a reply from Anathea.
Gregory simply shook his head.
At this point, everyone’s blade was pointing at him. As long as he didn’t go back, Anathea would remain safe.
Gregory then instructed Martin, “Tighten security at the villa. Under no circumstances should Mrs. Sinclair be allowed to leave, and absolutely no information about Adam is to be disclosed to her ”
“You really plan on keeping this from Anathea?” Theo objected, visibly upset. “You know how worried she is about Adam, yet you’re stripping away her right to know!”

Watching Theo speak up on Anathea’s behalf, Gregory recalled how the two of them had chatted and laughed together that day.
His tone turned cold. “So what? With her current condition, that news would do her nothing but harm.”
“But what if she finds out anyway?” Theo pressed, unwilling to give in.
“She won’t.” Gregory met Theo’s gaze, his voice resolute and unwavering. “She just needs to stay at home. I’ll take care of everything.”
Theo looked into Gregory’s eyes that were clouded with stubborn absession, frowning. “So, not only are you taking away her right to know but her right to choose as well?”
