The nanny’s voice was neither loud nor soft, but Aria’s acute hearing could still hear it.
Seraphina committed suicide, she really didn’t believe it….
Kane suddenly went silent, looking at Aria.
Aria smiled without changing her expression. “Just go.”
“Aria,” he hesitated for a moment, then said firmly, “I’ll take care of this as soon as possible, just wait for me.”
He picked up his suit jacket, put it on, and left.
Watching the door slowly close, Aria’s smile faded.
She picked up her phone and sent a message to Anna, telling her to take a day off the day after tomorrow.
When Kane arrived at Seraphina’s place, he saw the nanny outside the bathroom scared out of her wits, frantically calling for an ambulance.
He walked into the bathroom and saw Seraphina lying in the bathtub, with her arm stretched out, the wound on her wrist bleeding profusely, staining everything red.
“Seraphina!”
Kane walked to the bathtub and called for the nanny to bring the spare first aid kit.
The nanny snapped out of it and quickly went to find help. He pressed on Seraphina’s wound with his hand to stop the bleeding, and then continued to try to wake her up.
Seraphina slowly opened her eyes. “Kane… don’t save me, I deserve this… take care of Jasper for me.“/
The nanny brought the first aid kit. Kane tore a strip of cloth with his blood–stained hands and tied it tightly around her wrist. “Don’t talk nonsense, the doctor will be here soon.
“Kane, I remembered when we were kidnapped back then.”
The word “kidnapping” made Kane freeze, his mind went blank, a mix of unfamiliar and familiar painful memories came flooding back, giving him a splitting headache.
He looked up at Seraphina, his expression dark. “What did you just say?“.
