Chapter 433
Dominic’s gaze lingered on Anathea’s face for a few more seconds.
But the next second, he met Gregory’s indifferent eyes. Dominic looked away and smiled slightly. “Don’t be so tense. I’m not ‘ interested in someone else’s wife.”
Gregory looked away, staring at Anathea wordlessly.
“I heard Adam is also in this hospital,” Dominic stated.
Gregory nodded, not in the mood to chat with Dominic. He only cared about Anathea, wondering when she would wake up.
Dominic didn’t disturb them any further. After casting a fleeting glance at the sleeping Anathea from the corner of his eyes, he turned and left the ward, closing the door behind him.
As soon as he stepped into the hallway, he saw Hannah sitting outside, staring intently at Anathea’s ward. Next to her was Chloe, who also looked worried.
He took a long stride and approached them.
When Hannah saw him, she hesitated, as if wanting to say something.
Before she could say anything, Dominic said, “Anathea’s condition has stabilized. She’s no longer in danger.”
At that, Hannah breathed a sigh of relief and whispered to Chloe, Thea is alright.‘

Chloe’s eyes brightened. “That’s great! Can I go see her, then?”
“She’s not awake yet. It’s not a good time to visit.” Dominic looked at Chloe, his voice softening a bit.
Of course, Hannah noticed the different way Dominic looked at Chibe and subtly shifted her body to block Chloe from his view.
Unable to see Chloe, Dominic looked at Hannah instead. “I thought you would’ve run away by now,” he remarked.
When Hannah saw Dominic earlier, her intent to run away had practically been written all over her face.
“I came to see my friend. Why would I run away?” Hannah retorted. Compared to her earlier flustered state, she was much calmer now.
“Because you’re guilty.” Dominic stared at her, trying to catch a crack in her expression.
But Hannah was far more composed than he had expected. “That’s an interesting thing to say, Mr. Lancaster. Why should I feel guilty?”
Before Dominic could speak, she continued, “If it’s about my daughter’s blood type, then you’re overthinking it. It’s not as if you’re the only person with Rh–negative blood in the world. If you’re forming any ideas based on that, you’re ridiculous.”
Hannah knew what he was thinking. Rather than guiltily hiding or avoiding him, it was better to be upfront and shut down that idea of his before it could take root.
Besides, she hadn’t left because she was worried about Anathea. Hannah wanted to see Anathea once she woke up–that was the only thing that could put her at ease,
Dominic looked at her self–righteous expression and curled his lips. “Hannah, you’d better keep up this act. Don’t let me catch you slipping.”
Hannah froze for a moment, then gave a cold snort and ignored him. She held Chloe tightly in her arms, not letting him get even a glimpse of the latter.
Dominic wasn’t annoyed. He took a big step and stood on the other side, just enough to see Chloe’s big, bright eyes peeking out. Chloe blinked at Dominic. “Mister, were you the one who gave Thea a blood transfusion?”

Dominic nodded. “Yes.”
“Thank you for saving her,” Chloe said politely.
“You’re welcome.” Dominic’s voice automatically became gentle when he spoke to Chloe.
“Mom says people who save others are great heroes, so you’re a great hero too.” Chloe’s eyes curved into two pretty little
crescents.
Smiling, Dominic bent down, ignoring Hannah’s wary gaze and looking Chloe in the eye. Then, as if premeditated, he asked slowly, “Chloe, do you like great heroes?”
Chloe nodded. “Yes!”
“Then, would you like me to be your daddy?”
