Lucas was originally supposed to stay here for at least three months.
But plans never keep up with changes.
Olivia pulled some strings on the outside and managed to get Lucas an early release.
She even happily prepared a party to celebrate.
Of course, all that happiness shattered the moment she saw me.
Olivia pointed at me, losing control: “Lucas, how could you bring her? Have you forgotten how that scar on your forehead got there?!”
As she spoke, she was already pushing me: “How dare you show your face here? Get out, get out right now!”
Just as her sharp nails were about to scratch my face.
Lucas grabbed her hand.
“Olivia, listen to me. That incident is in the past now. Rachel has been a big help to me lately!”
Lucas was already using his gentlest tone.
He was grateful to Olivia. She had truly given so much for him during this time.
But Olivia couldn’t hear any of it.
She stared blankly at Lucas holding her hand.
Lucas was using a lot of force, leaving Olivia’s wrist red.
He had hit her before, but he had never treated her like this because of another woman.
Tears fell uncontrollably from Olivia’s eyes as she cried out: “What friend? You’ve fallen for someone else, haven’t you?”
“Fine, great, I shouldn’t have helped you. Why don’t you just stay in the mental hospital with her forever?”

Olivia threw her purse at me violently, then ran out crying.
The friends around all carefully tried to persuade Lucas.
“Bro, go after her quick. You’ve really hurt her feelings this time.”
“Think of how much she’s sacrificed for you. She’s been worrying about you and managing the
company at the same time. She didn’t even have time to go to the hospital when she got sick…”
Lucas looked in the direction Olivia had run.
For a moment, a hint of reluctance flashed in his eyes.
I sadly realized that as fellow mentally ill people, Lucas was far better than me.
Apart from being unable to control his violence, in other aspects, he was close to normal.
He had normal emotions, understood what love was, and could be moved by another person’s
sincere devotion.
Not like me.
Ethan had given so much, yet my heart remained a wasteland, unable to give him anything in return.
That day, Lucas ultimately didn’t go after her.
He had feelings for Olivia, felt guilty towards her.
But also inevitably…felt burdened.
Olivia wanted normal love. Around her, Lucas had to restrain his violence, exhaust his patience, just to play the role of a barely qualified boyfriend.
But around me, he could shed all pretenses.
As dark and dirty as he wanted to be.
I accepted it all.
A week passed. Just as I sensed Lucas’s scales tipping towards me-

Olivia, who had been sulking at Lucas this whole time, posted on social media.
The picture showed a pregnancy test, along with signed abortion consent forms.
When Lucas saw this post, he was driving.
His eyes suddenly turned red. He pulledakes by the roadside and frantically called Olivia:
“How dare you?!”
Muffled crying cameobs came from the other end of the phone.
Olivia choked out: “Lucas, I ran away from the operating room. I couldn’t bear to abort our child.””
Lucas let out a long sigh of relief.
He hadn’t even had time to savor this joy of regaining what was lost when Olivia spoke again:
“I love our baby, so I don’t want another woman by the father’s side.”
Lucas’s fingers instantly clenched, his knuckles turning white.
What does a violent lunatic hate most?
Being threatened.
Threats further stimulate his desire for violence.
But right now, Lucas couldn’t refuse this threat.
He cared about that child.
How ridiculous. A rotten person through and through, yet still obsessed with passing on his rotten
genes.
Watching Lucas’s veins bulge, I smiled.
I leaned close to the phone and said softly:

“No problem, Miss Gu. I promise I won’t appear by Mr. Lu’s side again.”
With that, I unbuckled my seatbelt and opened the car door.
