After all, there was a huge gap between our 

circumstances. Even if Dubois cheated, it 

would be a pipe dream to ask him to leave

out?” 

“Ha…” He paused, then, as if remembering 

something, put on his high-and-mighty expression again. “Fine, let’s go.” 

We didn’t speak on the way. After getting a 

number at the courthouse, we waited.
