Chapter 30
Jared was getting into a marriage alliance?
Yvonne looked up at that. That wasn’t something she’d heard about in the past.

“Jared knows what the family wants; that’s why he’s never gone against whatever has been arranged for him. Men should always prioritize their careers over everything else. Your relationship with him is precious, but he can’t promise you marriage.” Wanda spoke from the Ford family’s perspective.
Suddenly, Yvonne understood everything. She’d thought marriage was just a choice between two people who loved each other, but it turned out Jared had also been weighing the pros and cons.
So, he’d never brought up marriage because he was just stringing her along?
Yvonne had finally gotten an answer to a question that had plagued her for a long time, but she was unfazed by it. Someone who no longer meant anything to her, couldn’t affect her.
“Why are you telling me this?” she asked. She could tell Wanda genuinely wanted her and Jared to have a clean break.
“As a mother, I have to help Jared make the right choice. Since you two have already called it quits, I hope you won’t see him anymore. I’ll arrange for him to go on blind dates, too,” Wanda said.
“I’m not interested in knowing about that,” Yvonne said coldly.
Wanda pulled out a blank check. “A woman’s youth is precious, and I know Jared has always doted on you. The Jamison family might have gone bankrupt, but you’ve continued to live in luxury. I don’t want to see life becoming hard for you in the future, so doing a little something like this will put me at ease.‘
Her gaze was mocking. It wasn’t as if she’d never pulled such tricks before. The way she saw it, Yvonne had asked for a breakup -it was a tactic to force Jared to marry her so she could marry into an affluent family.

“You have to accept this, Yvonne. It’s a little token from me,” Wanda said. She didn’t think Yvonne would be shameless enough to continue clinging to Jared once she accepted the check.
And that was her purpose for scheduling this coffee date to give Yvonne compensation for the breakup.
Yvonne laughed softly, the sound cold and icy. She and Jared had had a normal relationship, yet it had now turned into her becoming a sugar baby because of the disparity between their statuses.
“I have a request, actually,” Yvonne said icily. “Please keep Jared on a tight leash and make sure he doesn’t harass

Jared was discharged from the hospital to recuperate at home after two days. This time, without Yvonne
“Stop going to work, Jared. Your body needs all the rest it can get.” Wanda came by to care for him.

He didn’t say anything. Instead, he kept his eyes shut as he rested.

Marie prepared dinner downstairs. Wanda headed to the kitchen and looked around before asking in displeasure, “How could you not clean the place? Why haven’t you thrown those rotten fruits and wilted flowers?”
“Mr. Ford forbade me from cleaning, ma’am. Ms. Jamison left those here,” Marie said.
Wanda knew that, of course. The people she’d stationed by Jared’s side had kept her posted. She said, “Wait until he’s out of the house before you clean, then.”
“Yes, Mrs. Ford.”
Just then, Jared came out of his bedroom, looking sullen as he scowled. “This is my home, Mom. No one is touching anything in here.”
“Jared, there’s no point in keeping the things left behind by someone you can’t keep by your side.” There was an undercurrent to Wanda’s words.
Jared looked around at the house, which still had traces of Yvonne around. His gaze darkened, and he said, “Yvvy will come back to me.”
She’d only chased him back to the hospital because she was worried about his injuries. Besides, there was no other man in her life who was better than him!
She would definitely choose him again! He was sure of that.
