Chapter 51
Yvonne booked a table at a high–end restaurant. She arrived early and ordered drinks for them, all in line with proper dining etiquette.
Sarouel arrived precisely on time.
“Good evening. Mr. Hover.”
“Good evening to you too, Ms. Jamison.” Samuel returned Yvonnes greeting, looking at her with gentle eyes.
Yvonne was wearing a red velvet dress. Her dark hair was slightly curled and lett loose, cascading over her shoulders, a stark contrast against her fair neck. Her light makeup highlighted her raillant seulle.
Coincidentally, Samuel’s tie was a similar shade of dark red.
They took their seats in the private room of the restaurant, which had a beautiful view.
“Do you have any dietary restrictions, Mr. Hover?” Yvonne asked politely.
“No. I’m fine with anything.” Samuel folded his arms lazily, openly meeting her gaze.
Yvonne turned to their waiter and confirmed their order. “Please make sure none of the food contains kiwi. Other than that, everything is fine.”
“You can’t have kiwi?” Samuel asked
“Yes, I’m allergic.”
Samuel quietly made a mental note of that.
While they were waiting for the food to be served, Yvonne got straight to the point. “Mr. Hover, I’ve signed up for the Jeriton City Jewelry Design Competition, but I don’t have enough time to create a new design.
“I’d like to use the emerald sculpture for the competition, but since it’s a custom piece I’m making for you, I wanted to check with you first.”
“It’s still your work, so of course you can use it for the competition,” Samuel said pleasantly. His good mood was apparent through his tone. “Emerald sculptures are your signature, after all, and you’re making the masterpiece.
“Besides, my grandfather’s birthday is at the end of the year, which is after the competition, so there’s no conflict. It would be unfair to the rest of the competitors if we were to present the pieces part of the Hover family’s collection. Everything works out well.”
“Thank you, Mr. Hover.” Yvonne breathed a sigh of relief and smiled. “You provided me with the material, yet I’ll get the credit and the publicity from the competition. I can’t thank you enough for that.”
“If you win the competition, the sculpture will rise in value too. That would make my gift even more meaningful.”
Samuel’s reasoning was sound, but still, Yvonne was deeply grateful for his generosity.
Throughout dinner, their conversation revolved around the emerald sculpture.
Suddenly, Samuel asked, “Are you still going on blind dates, Ms. Jarnison?”
Taken aback, Yvonne paused briefly before answering, “No, I’ve been too busy lately.”
“I’ve never actually been on blind dates before,” Samuel said, lowering his eyes to hide his emotions. “That time with you was
first.”

for that mix–up,” Yvonne said quickly as the awkward memories crept back. “And I don’t think that counts as a
proper date, does it?”

Samuel locked up at her. “Why not?”
Startled by his intense gaze, Yvonne hesitated for a moment belo mistook you for someone else, only to find out that you’re Samur
explaining, “I didn’t know who you really were at the time. I lover. Technically, I took advantage of you.”
After all, as one of the most powerful figures in Jertion City, Samui was a distant and legendary man.
“That day, you approached me and asked me if I was your date,” Samuel said, his gaze intent. “I was curious, so I didn’t deny it. Aside from the mistaken name, everything else we talked about was real So, technically, we did go on a date.”
He was curious?
Yvonne telt as if there was something deeper behind his words.
But then again, if it weren’t for that mix–up, she would never have fund the chance to meet someone as elusive as Samuel,
She couldn’t deny that she’d unknowingly taken a shortcut in her career.
“You’re right. You were my first blind date, too. But tonight has nothing to do with that–I’m here to thank you,” she said firmly. “That doesn’t conflict with anything. Failed dates can be friends too. Thank you for your hospitality, Ms. Jamison,” Samuel said, his good mood persisting.
To him, they were on a date tonight, and he believed that dates could bring them to a new stage–a relationship.
Meanwhile, Jared had also chosen the same restaurant to have dinner with Anthony.
