The first thing Anthony saw when he sat down was the contract placed beside Jared. “What’s this?”
“The contract I drafted for Yvonne,” Jared replied, looking at him he blocked me, so have no way of reaching, her. But I know that after resigning as my secretary, her career and personalife have both been affected. I don’t want her to continue suffering without me.”

Jared couldn’t help but feel a tinge of envy when the call connected easily.
Yvonne had blocked him for too long, but it was fine. Soon, he would no longer be on that list of blocked contacts.
When Yvonne picked up, Anthony spoke with a smile. “Yvonne, where are you? I know you haven’t found a job since resigning Have you ever thought of going back to Ford Corporation?
‘You were doing well there before, after all. Besides, I heard that fired’s arranged a new position for you. You can negotiate any terms you want.”
Since they were friends, Yvonne wouldn’t ignore a call from Anthony, but she hadn’t expected this.

“No. I’ve already resigned, and I don’t plan on going back,” she said calmly through the phone, purposefully keeping her relationship problems out.

talk about this? Where are you? We can come find you, Anthony continued persuading.
“Sorry, I’m in an important meeting now. Let’s not talk about this anymore.” With that, she ended the call and put her phone on silent.
With her head lowered, she didn’t notice the slight smile that flashed across Samuel’s face.
“Mr. Hover, the dessert here is really good. I don’t know if you like cake, but I ordered two slices for you to try,” Yvonne said
Samuel lifted his gaze and met hers. “Do you come here often?”

“Yeah, my best friend loves this restaurant. I’ll have to take a slice of cake to–go for her later.”
Samuel’s smile widened, “Well, then, I’ll have to try it too.”

Meanwhile, Anthony’s second call went manswered. He glanced Helplessly at Jared, whose face had darkened. “I don’t think Yvonne wants to go back.”
Jared’s mood soured. “She made such a big deal about leaving–ofcourse she won’t come back so easily. She doesn’t even know how good a deal I’m offering her. Once I see her in person and shg her the contract, she won’t refuse,” he said stubbornly. Just then, the waiter entered with their food. Through the open door, Anthony spotted Lather walking past.

Luther stopped and turned to see them.
Even though they were rivals, they w
were also partners in business, so it was necessary to be polite.
