Hearing that, Jared and Luther looked at each other in annoyance,

A private date?
Jared and Luther began making their guesses.
Everyone knew that Samuel had never publicly acknowledged ang mantle relationships. If he were to get married, it would have major implications for both the Hover family and Jeriton Chyn general.
Just then, Samuel spotted the waiter bringing over their dessert. I was about to turn back into the room when he remembered something. Turning back, he met Jared’s probing gaze.,
“Mr. Ford, I heard that the documents your company submitted last time had mistakes,” he said lightly. The implicit meaning behind his words was clear.
Hearing that, Jared’s expression shifted slightly. “I’m so sorry about that, Mr. Hover. My secretary made a mistake last time. We will make sure that everything is meticulous the next time.”
For some reason, he felt a strange tension in the air.
What was going on?
There seemed to be more hidden behind Samuel’s casual remark.
Jared was acutely aware that, despite being secure and confident in their status, he and Luther would still need to submit to the future head of the Hover family.
In fact, right now, Jared found himself grateful that he and Samuel were only business rivals and not romantic ones.
He wouldn’t stand a chance against Samuel in a competition for love.
“Alright, then, gentlemen, I’ll take my leave.” With that, Samuel went back to the private room just as the waiter placed the desserts on the table.
Jared and Luther remained outside, standing some distance away from the door.
From their vantage point, they shouldn’t have been able to see who was in the room.
om with Samuel, but just then, Yvonne reached out to take her plate. From the slight gap in the door, Jared caughtight of her arm.
Her wrist was slender, with a hair tie wrapped around it.
Jared froze.
A woman’s hand?
It looked familiar.
Jared wanted to take another look, but Samuel just happened to shift slightly, blocking his view entirely.
Once the waiter exited, Samuel smoothly lifted his gaze with a polite smile and closed the door, cutting off any and all prying
eyes.
None of them managed to see who was in the room with him.
Even after leaving the restaurant, Jared remained inexplicably irritated. For some reason, he felt tense and uneasy.

“Looks like you’ve made quite an Impression on Mr. Ilover,” Lathir sald mockingly. “You really don’t have an eye for good employees, do you? Your new secretary isn’t even half as compete as Ms. Jamison. How unfortunate that she resigned, it looks 1 like I have the upper hand in securing this project.”
“Nothing is set in stone yet, Mr. Feland. Don’t count your chicken before they hatch,” Jared said, keeping his expression unreadable.
On the inside, however, he was panicking.
Luther’s words were a threat. He had to get Yvonne back as his secretary as soon as possible so she could help him secure Hover Group’s project.
Yvonne had no idea what had transpired outside.
The dinner ended after dessert. Before leaving, she even packed an extra slice of cake to bring home.
“Did you drive here today, Ms. Jamison?” Samuel asked.
“I did. Thank you, and goodbye, Mr.
Hover.”
Samuel only let her go because he knew that Jared had already left. He needed to keep his guard up against her ex–boyfriend, after áll.
Half an hour later, Yvonne arrived back at her villa in Clearwater Bay.
When she stepped out of the car, she noticed a familiar luxury car parked across the street.
Jared was leaning against the door languidly, half–shrouded in the shadows. When he saw her, he put out the cigarette he was smoking and strode toward her.
