For a fleeting moment, the entire situation creeped her out.
Even though she’d stopped, Jared was still approaching her.
“yyyy, where did you go? It’s late,” he asked. His voler was hoarse
Jared stared at her, eyes sharp. Her red dress was stunning–but she was alone.
It felt a little strange to him. Yvonne should be heartbroken after their breakup. Why would she still have the mood to dress up and go out?
Then again, he could understand. She probably didn’t want to stay in the house without him. The vast emptiness probably made her feel lonely, so she’d gone out to distract herself.
Jared didn’t realize that he was projecting his exact experience these past few days onto Yvonne.
Meanwhile, Yvonne knew that there was no avoiding him this time she watched him carefully as he stopped, making sure to keep a safe distance from him.

gaze, there was a cold look in her eyes. “What are you doing here?”
The past few days had been so peaceful. She’d thought that he’d finally given up. Why had he suddenly shown up at her doorstep @gain?
Hearing this, Jared couldn’t help but chuckle softly.

“I’ve been watching you all this time. I care about how you’re doing. I know leaving your job has affected you really badly. Yvvy, you ran into Selena two days ago, didn’t you?” he asked, giving her a cursory look. Yvonne wore no luxury items; to him, she seemed to have lost some of her glow.
“I don’t care about whatever is going on between you and your sister.”
Yvonne wanted to leave, but Jared stepped forward, blocking her why to the door.
She stepped back immediately and looked around. The area had good security, so if Jared attempted anything, she only had to scream, and several security guards would rush over.
Jared noticed her flickering gaze immediately and took it for avoidance.
Just as he’d expected, Yvonne was finding it hard to keep up her act. She wanted to see him, yet she didn’t dare to look at him. Clearly, she wanted to get back with him. She just wanted to be difficult.
“Ywy, I don’t think you heard what Anthony said over the phone, I came to tell you myself.”
Jared took out the contract and handed it to her.
“You shouldn’t have given up your career just like that. I’m assigning you back to the secretarial department. Now, stop being stubborn. You’ll just continue to suffer without me. You were great as my secretary–that’s the best you can do.”
Hearing this, Yvonne laughed. Being his secretary had never been the best she could do with her capabilities.
“I think you’re the one who didn’t hear what I said. No matter what conditions you offer, I will never return to Ford Corporation Besides, you already have a new secretary,” she said.
Jared
only heard the last part of what she said. “Ah, I knew it.”

Women would always be women. This was jealousy In action. No matter how much time had passed, she would never forget her old grudges.
“Look, for the last time, I hired Shirley as my secretary simply because she’s a student I sponsored. She’s just like a sister to me. I’ve never had any inappropriate feelings toward her,” Jared said.
“Like I said, you’ll see for yourself once you come back. You really shouldn’t have acted on impulse and quit your job. You let your imagination nm too far about me and her.”
Yvonne’s breathing remained steady. She was completely unaffected by Jared’s words.
“For the last time, I don’t feed your explanation. Your affairs have nothing to do with me. I will never return to Ford Corporation to be your secretary.”
“Do you really want to continue struggling out there? Can you ever earn enough to support yourself? You should be making the smartest decision, not choosing to suffer!”
The lack of a positive response to his persuasion was wearing on Jared’s patience. He stepped forward suddenly, grabbed her wrist, and shoved the contract toward her forcefully.
