Yvonne’s expression turned cold and she said icily, “How do you think I should act then?”
Thinking that she was genuinely asking for his opinion, Shane replied, “Jared has such strong feelings for you, and he’s given you everything you wanted. A bit of drama now and then adds some spice to your relationship, but you’re getting ahead of yourself if you drag it on for too long.
“I understand Luther very well. He doesn’t lack women, and you’re not the only one out there capable of using your looks to your advantage. You should absolutely not choose Luther. Return to Jared and continue to work as his secretary instead–that’s the obvious choice you should make ”
Shane had always regarded his career as his top priority. He’d been with many women, but they were nothing but accessories to him, and he definitely wouldn’t allow them to affect his career.
“As a friend, I’m just trying to advise you not to sow discord between the Fords and the Felands, Yvonne,” he said.
Yvonne suddenly interrupted him “Friend? Whose friend, exactly?”
