Marriage Contract 11

Even Ethan and my parents couldn’t agree with Tina’s absurd argument.

They wanted to defend her but couldn’t even open their mouths.

“Oh right, Lily said earlier that you could get revenge on her. But I’d advise against it. Of course, those who aren’t afraid of death can try. Hope everyone enjoys the banquet tonight. Sorry, Lily’s dress

is dirty, we’ll be taking our leave now.”

Noah raised his wine glass slightly in a polite and gentlemanly gesture, but his eyes were as cold as

frost.

A circle of muscular men standing ramrod straight around the edges of the banquet hall nodded

simultaneously.

The pressure was intense.

For the first time, I got a real sense of Noah’s reputation as a formidable figure in both legal and illegal circles.

I had always thought it was just a joke before.

If I had discovered this side of him three years ago when we first got married, I might have chickened out on the spot.

4:29 pm D

After all, there was no need to risk my life just to spite that scumbag Ethan.

“Are those men bodyguards?” I asked quietly.

“Mm.” Noah led me towards the exit.

“How come I’ve never seen them before?”

“I don’t often bring them along.”

Me: “Then why did you bring them this time?”

Noah replied nonchalantly: “To back you up.”

“If, hypothetically speaking, Tina or Ethan or whoever else attacks me, will they intervene?”

“They will”

“But if they just slap me once, and your bodyguards punch back and break half their bones, isn’t that a bit unfair? One slap versus half a life?”

Noah ruffled my hair:

“It’s not the same, you can’t compare it like that. A single slap landing on your face is worth more than ten of their lives.”

Pop-up comments:

“Villainous couple, you two really live up to the ‘villainous’ part…”

“Bro, you’ve been so gentle with the villainess lately, I almost forgot you’re a dark, crawling

psychopath.’

“This slap in the face to the loser couple, so satisfying! I’m getting goosebumps, I want to order five spicy rabbit heads right now to celebrate!”

“Guess what I just discovered? In the latest updated version of this book, the villainous couple became the main leads. Seems like the author also realized this pair’s popularity is on a whole other

level.”

“Even though we didn’t see the captivity play, it looks like you two haven’t been shy about chains and

toys either. Lily Chen, Noah Song, you poor things, be happy together.”

This was the last pop-up comment I saw.

Even though I knew they couldn’t see it, I still silently replied:

“Thank you, we will be happy.”
