As I stood in the hotel lobby, my eyes scanned the crowded room, searching for a familiar face.
And then, I saw him – my brother, Dax.
He walked towards me with a bright smile, his eyes crinkling at the corners.}}
My heart swelled as I took in his appearance.”
He looked taller and more rugged than I remembered, his dark hair messy and his jawline covered in a scruff of stubble.}
He was dressed in a simple white T–shirt and jeans, but he looked every inch the successful businessman he had become.
Dax had been pursuing his career in finance overseas, and I had barely seen him in the past few years.”
But despite the distance, he had always been there for me, supporting me and offering advice whenever I needed it.”
As he approached me, I felt a lump form in my throat. I had kept the real happenings of my marriage to Brad a secret from him.”
I did not want to worry him or distract him from his career.
But now, I wished I had told him.
Maybe he would have seen the warning signs, maybe he would have been able to knock some sense into my head.”
“Dax,” I whispered, my voice trembling as I threw my arms around him.”
He hugged me tightly, lifting me off the ground. “Bella, I’ve missed you so much,” he said, his voice rough with emotion.
I clung to him, tears streaming down my face. The last time I saw him was on my wedding day, five years ago.
We stood there for a moment, holding each other tightly, before Dax finally set me down and wiped my tears away.
But I couldn’t stop crying.
The emotions I had been holding inside for so long finally burst free, and I sobbed uncontrollably.
Dax led me to the couch in the lobby, sitting down beside me and holding me close.}
“Bella, what’s wrong?” he asked, his voice soft with concern. “You’re not crying like this just because I came back, are you? Did something else happen?”
I took a deep breath, trying to calm down. But the words tumbled out of me.”
I told him everything about Brad’s infidelity, about Lydia, about the way he had treated me like dirt.
Dax listened, his face growing darker and darker with anger.
When I finally finished, he was fuming, his fists clenched and his eyes blazing.”
“Why the hell would he disrespect you like that?” he growled, slamming his fist into the wall. “And why didn’t you say a word this time?”
I apologized, feeling both guilty and ashamed. “I thought he was going to learn to love me and change,”
I said, barely hearing my voice.
“But now, with Lydia in the picture, I realize our marriage has hit rock bottom.”
Dax’s face was still twisted with anger, but he took a deep breath and tried to calm down. “I’m going to give him a piece of my mind. Where did you say he was at again?“}
I placed a hand on his arm. “Dax, you can’t forget that he’s still the Alpha of our pack. You can’t go against him.“@
Dax’s face twisted in disgust. “Maybe it’s high time I leave the pack then.“}
My eyes widened in alarm. “Oh no, where would you go?“}
Dax shrugged. “That’s not a problem. Have you forgotten my best friend Theo? He’s actually an Alpha now. Of the Blue Moon Pack. He’d be happy to take us in.“}
I felt a surge of hope at his words. Maybe, just maybe, I could start over, leave my past behind and build a new life.}
Dax stood up, his face still set in a determined expression. “Before I even forget, he requested to speak with you on an important matter.“}
I raised my eyebrows, curious. “Theo? On what?”
Dax hesitated for a moment before answering. “Something about his pack. He said he’d call me in a bit. But first, we have to tackle this issue. You have to divorce Brad and end your mate bond.“}]
I nodded stiffly. “I already sent the papers to his house.”
Dax’s face softened, and he smiled at me. “That’s my girl.”
I was happy to be reunited with my brother after all these years, but I was also anxious to leave the city and start fresh.
“I have to leave Florida in two days,” I said, breaking the silence.
Dax’s expression changed from relaxed to surprised. “What? You’re leaving? We just got reunited again after all these years.”
I nodded, feeling sad. “I know, but there’s nothing left for me here. I need to start over. I already booked my flight to Sydney.”
Dax nodded understandingly, but I could see the disappointment in his eyes. “I get it. But before you go, I want you to speak with Theo first. He might be able to help you and you wouldn’t have to go there after all.”
I nodded, intrigued. “Okay, sure.“}

piercing blue eyes staring back at me.”
“Hey, Dax! Long time no see,” Theo said, his voice deep and smooth.
“Hey, Theo! Good to see you too, man,” Dax replied. “I’ve got the person you so desperately wanted to meet.“”
Theo’s eyes shifted to me, and he smiled. “Ah, Bella! Nice to see you again.“}]
I smiled back, feeling a little shy. “Likewise. It’s been like forever.“}
Theo got straight to the point. “Bella, I’ve heard a lot about you from Dax. I’m afraid we have a bit of a situation on our hands.“@
I raised an eyebrow, curious. “What kind of situation?”
“We’ve had some mysterious attacks in our pack, and I think you might be able to help us.”
I laughed, feeling a little skeptical. “What could I possibly do?”
Theo’s expression turned serious. “I need your…uh…psychic abilities.“}
I rolled my eyes, feeling a little annoyed. “I’m not a psychic.“}]
Theo chuckled. “Okay, whatever your powers are from being a moon blood descendant, I need them.“}]
I raised an eyebrow, a little curious despite myself. “And what’s in it for me? I’m actually leaving my pack and about to be a lone wolf.”
Theo smiled. “Well, for starters, I can offer you protection from my pack. And I can also offer you a chance to work in marketing in my company. I know that’s something you’ve always wanted to do.”}
My eyes widened in surprise. How did he know that?!
Dax spoke up, a smile on his face. “I told him, sis. I remembered how much you wanted to be a marketing specialist.“}
I felt a lump form in my throat as I looked at my brother.
He had always been there for me, even when I thought he wasn’t paying attention.
Theo’s voice brought me back to reality. “So, what do you say, Bella? Are you in?“}
I took a deep breath, weighing my options.
I had a flight booked to Sydney, but this was an opportunity I couldn’t pass up.
“Okay,” I said finally. “Your terms seem more than fair.“}
Theo grinned. “Great! We should set up a formal meeting. When can you come to Bermuda?“}
I thought for a moment before responding. “I’ll cancel my flight and be there in two days.“}
Theo nodded, his expression serious. “I’ll send someone to pick you up. Looking forward to meeting you in person, Bella.”
The video call ended, and I turned to Dax, feeling a bit excited at doing something different.
“What have I just gotten myself into?” I asked, feeling a little overwhelmed.
Dax grinned. “You’ll be fine, sis. Theo’s a good guy. And who knows? Maybe this is exactly what you need.“0
I nodded, feeling a sense of hope. Maybe this was the start of something new and exciting. Maybe this was exactly what I needed to start over.

When I reached my house, I couldn’t shake off the feeling of unease.
