Chapter 541
Anathea nodded, her tear–filled eyes sparkling with a trace of a smile.
Before long, Theo returned with food. Fiona was in great spirits. She even ate half a portion more than usual. Seeing that, Anathea was visibly relieved and happy.
After dinner, Theo once again took the initiative to clear the dishes. He even poured water for both Fiona and Anathea.
“Thank you,” Anathea said politely.
“No need to thank me. It’s the least I can do.” Theo smiled warmly.
Fiona’s gaze swept over the two of them, but she just smiled and said nothing.
Anathea had originally planned to stay the night with Fiona, but the latter insisted she was fine and didn’t need company. She told Anathea to take care of herself instead.
“I’ll come pick you up and take you home in a couple of days,” Anathea promised.
Fiona’s health had mostly recovered, and she was ready to leave the sanatorium and return to normal life.
But at the mention of going home, Fiona paused.
That house had been seized back when Adam got into trouble. It hadn’t belonged to them for years.
“Don’t worry. I’ll buy it back,” Anathea said softly, offering comfort.
Fiona didn’t respond with words. She just gave a small nod. Her eyes were clouded with
r of melancholy.
Theo went ahead to bring the car around while Anathea reluctantly said her goodbyes.
Just before Anathea left, Fiona said, “You know, I actually think Theo’s a pretty good guy. He’s good–looking and kind.”
“Mom, don’t start,” Anathea said with a helpless wave and turned toward the car. “Take care of yourself.”
Once they were on the road, before Anathea could say anything, Theo turned to her and said, “I heard there’s a once–in–seventy -years Perseid meteor shower tonight. I know a great spot to watch it. Do you want to go check it out?”
Before he left, Fiona had secretly mentioned to him that Anathea loved meteor showers.
Sure enough, Anathea glanced at the time. It was already late, but she agreed. “Sure, let’s go.”
Theo made a U–turn and headed for an observatory higher up in the mountains.
“Isn’t the observatory closed at this hour?” Anathea asked.
Sure enough, the gates were already locked.
Anathea looked a little disappointed.
“Well, we can open it,” Theo said with a grin, pulling a key from his pocket.
“You have the key?” Anathea was surprised.
“It’s one of my side businesses,” Theo replied with a wink.
He quickly unlocked the gate, opened the door, and held out a hand. “This way, my lady. Allow me the honor of taking you to watch the meteor shower.”
Anathea laughed at his over–the–top formality. “Okay, okay. Let’s get to it.”
They took the elevator up to the viewing deck. It was a wide, open platform with a panoramic view of the mountains and the glittering city lights of Syntherra below.

“It’s beautiful,” Anathea murmured. It wasn’t as dazzling as the skyline of Castenea, but it had a charm all its own.
“The real beauty’s right here,” Theo waved her over. “Quick. You can already see some meteors.”
Anathea walked over to him, and Theo had already set up a telescope for her.
The moment she peered into the sky, a dazzling meteor shower lit up the night. Streaks of light danced across the darkness like glowing tails of silver.
Anathea’s clear eyes sparkled with delight. She had never seen a meteor shower this grand before. She stood frozen in awe, afraid to even blink.
“Beautiful, isn’t it?” Theo asked.
“It really is,” she said honestly. “But it’s too fleeting.‘
”
In just a dozen seconds or so, the sky gradually returned to stillness.
“Then let’s record it a different way,” Theo suddenly said.
“What?” Anathea turned to him.
The next second, a meteor–shaped necklace appeared before her eyes. Its shimmering stones looked like a galaxy of stars glinting under the night lights.
