Kellan asked the colleague who went to the welcome dinner with Jasper Hale and found out that the group was having dinner at Pinnacle Restaurant.
After Britney got the exact news, she immediately took a cab to Pinnacle Restaurant.
Riverton was really jammed during the evening rush hour, and Britney kept checking the time.
I watched as the half–hour drive slowly turned into forty minutes, even fifty minutes, because of the traffic jam.
Britney couldn’t sit still anymore, so she paid the fare early and got out of the car. She found a shared e–bike nearby and got ready to ride over.
To save time, Britney rode her bike whenever she could.
Finally saw the door of Pinnacle Restaurant at the twentieth minute.
But she needed to get past the traffic lights up ahead to get there.
She was probably in too much of a hurry. When she turned to avoid the car coming from the opposite direction, she accidentally hit the curb.
The car lost its balance, and both the person and the car fell to the ground.

But she was glad it was just a scratch.
The black Bentley that almost got hit also stopped, and someone got out of the car and walked straight to Britney.
Britney figured she was about to get scolded, since she had just been driving too fast.

Britney had things to do and didn’t want to go, so she politely turned down Federico’s offer, “I’m fine, it’s just a small injury, no need to go to the hospital.”
Federico frowned and didn’t plan to reason with her. He just took her straight to the car.
Britney refused directly, “I have something urgent right now, I’ll go to the hospital myself later.

“Britney didn’t get hurt, right?” Bianca was actually pretty concerned.
“It’s fine.” Britney said in a pretty flat tone.
She pulled back her arm that Federico was holding and limped inside.
I didn’t want to waste time on people who didn’t matter.
But she still ended up being a step too late.
The restaurant staff told her, Jasper Hale and the others left right after they finished eating.
