“Mom!” Britney interrupted Lila. “You were going to be fine!”

Federico brought some supplements to visit Lila.
Lila didn’t know her, and Britney said she was a friend, so she didn’t ask more.
Federico stayed with Britney and they took Lila into the operating
room.
Britney thanked him.
Federico didn’t like hearing those polite words. He pretended to be annoyed, “Why are you being so distant with me?”
“You knew that’s not what I meant.” Britney was helpless.
“I was just joking with you, why did you take it so seriously?”
Federico was still the same as before, always liked to touch her head.
Britney used to always talk back to him, “If you keep touching me like this, what if I don’t grow taller?”
Federico just smirked and said, “If you don’t grow taller, I’ll take care of you.”
Of course, that was just a childhood joke. Federico just said it casually, and she, Britney, didn’t take it seriously.

Rodrick was with Bianca.
Theodore was on official business and could only get here a bit later.

Bianca quickly turned her face away to wipe away tears that hadn’t fallen, but when she saw who it was, she froze in surprise.

She just wanted to leave, so she didn’t hesitate to walk past the two of them.
Federico was still waiting for her. When he saw her come back, he smiled and said, “I was wondering why you were gone so long. Turns out you went to get coffee.” “Well, I couldn’t just leave you waiting,”
