When Gregory saw Anathea broken and cornered like a wounded animal, every part of his chest throbbed with pain.
He wanted to comfort her, but the rejection in her eyes cut deep. And then there was the ring.
Did Anathea really say yes to Theo?
His lips parted, but the question stuck in his throat..
If it was true, he didn’t want to hear it.
Gregory’s fingers curled into his palms. He exhaled slowly to force himself to stay calm before softening his voice and trying to soothe her. “Okay, I’ll go. Please don’t cry, okay?”
Anathea said nothing. Instead, she just bit her lip and turned her head away. Gregory gave her one last look, then stepped out the door reluctantly.
The moment he did, Anathea slammed the door shut behind him, giving him no room to look back. Then, she hurried to the balcony, locked every window tight, and slid to the floor, completely drained.
Meanwhile, Gregory stood outside the building, staring up at the 15th floor. Only when her lights went out did he return to his
car.
Just as he sat down, a message came through. It was from his assistant, who was tailing Theo.
In the photo, Theo was at a boxing gym, flashing a wide grin with two curvy women at his side.
Seeing that, Gregory slammed his phone onto the seat beside him. He then jerked the wheel and sped toward the gym.
When Louie got the call from Martin, his expression flickered with disbelief. “Who’s fighting?”
“Mr. Sinclair and Mr. Harrington.” Martin’s voice was anxious. “Dr. Anderson, please come quickly. You and Mr. Miller are the only ones who can calm them down.”
Louie rubbed his tired eyes. “These people never give anyone a break.”
He grabbed his things and got ready to leave, only to remember he hadn’t driven to work that day.
Just as he was about to call a ride, a car pulled up. The window rolled down, revealing a cool, elegant face.
Louie froze. Wasn’t Giselle supposed to be at the ward with Gabriel at this hour?
But Giselle got right to the point. “Where to?”
Snapping out of it, Louie climbed in and gave her the address. She turned the car around without a word.
Louie glanced at Giselle’s profile. “Why aren’t you asleep?”
It was late at night.
,” Giselle said plainly, like insomnia was a regular part of her life.
“I couldn’t sleep,”
Louie frowned. “How long do you usually sleep?”
She paused for a moment, then said stiffly, “I’m not your patient. You don’t need to know.”
“Giselle!” Louie tightened his frown. “If you still want me to operate on Gabriel, then answer my damn questions.”
“Oh, so you’re threatening me now?”
At the next red light, Giselle hit the brakes and shot him a glare. “Want me to kick you out of the car right now?”

Louie didn’t flinch. “Answer me.”
She was so irritated by his persistence she gave in. “Three hours.”
“How long has this been going on?”
“A year and a half.”
Louie went quiet, stunned. His face turned grim.
A year and a half. That was exactly how long they’d been broken up
“You’re pissed when I don’t answer. When I do, you’re still pissed. Make up your mind,” Giselle muttered with a dry laugh. The light turned green. She started driving again. This time, Louie didn’t say another word.
When Adrian arrived at the boxing gym, Gregory was still sparring with one of the boxers. A swift rear naked choke brought the match to a decisive end.
But Gregory’s face was covered in bruises–purple blotches and a split lip still bleeding. His short hair was soaked with sweat and stuck together in clumps. He looked tough, like he could punch straight through steel.
Theo wasn’t much better. But he was already sitting off to the side. His expression was dark as he watched Gregory spar with another boxer in the ring.
“What happened?” Adrian rolled his wheelchair over and stopped next to him. “What the hell’s going on between you and Greg?

“Don’t ask me!” Theo held a bag of ice to his swollen cheek, courtesy of Gregory’s punches. “He stormed in and started swinging at my face, saying he wanted to box.”
And of course, he got absolutely destroyed. He begged for mercy before Gregory finally let him go.
