Chapter 283
Theodore had just emptied his magazine and was about to reload when a sharp female voice rang out from behind them in Area 10. I don‘ need you to teach me how to shoot!”
Felix’s ears perked up. The voice sounded familiar.
When he turned around, he saw the woman who had been practicing shooting with her back to them had now turned halfway, lacing a group of young men who were harassing her. “If you touch me again, I won’t hold back!” she warned.
But the young men, clearly spoiled rich kids, only got bolder. “Oh yeah? And what are you gonna do to us, big star? Drain us dry or something?”
“Megan?” Felix muttered, about to step forward, but Theodore reached out to block him. “Hold on.”
Felix reminded him, “Theodore, that’s your wife’s friend.”
“Yeah, I know,” Theodore replied, shooting him a look. “Why are you getting so worked up over her?”
Felix was at a loss for words.
“Didn’t you say you weren’t looking to catch feelings for any woman right now?” Theodore said as he smoothly swapped out his magazine.
“I’m only stepping in because she’s your wife’s friend,” Felix said, shooting a glance at Megan. Those spoiled brats had her comered and were already getting handsy, and he instantly became nervous.
“Theodore, are we just gonna stay here and watch?” he asked.
“That depends on what she wants,” Theodore replied, pulling out his phone and dialing a number.
It took a while before the call was finally answered.
“I’m helping Jayden with his recitation homework. If you have something to say, make it quick,” Eliana said coldly.
Hearing the chill in her voice, Theodore glanced back at Megan, whose collar had been torn open. “Your friend’s here,” he said slowly.
“What friend?” Eliana asked, confused.
“Megan Thompson. Is she your friend?” Theodore asked.
“Of course. What’s wrong with her?”
“She’s being harassed by a bunch of guys,” Theodore said.
“Then why aren’t you helping her?” Eliana snapped.
The urgency in her voice made Theodore smirk. “I’ll send you the address. Why don’t you come over and help her yourself?”
After hanging up, Theodore sent Eliana the location of the shooting range, then fired a warning shot toward the group of young men crowding around Megan.
“Ah!” The young men, who had been getting handsy with Megan, heard the shot ring out right by their ears and immediately ducked down, covering their heads with their hands.
Theodore scoffed at the sight. “Look at how fast they ducked. Must be repeat offenders.”
Chapter 283
Felix rubbed his forehead and joked, “You were all slow and hesitant just now, but one call to your wife and suddenly you’re Me Chiclana
“Hey, the boss gave the order. How could I not hustle?” Theodore replied, looking quite pleased with himself as he strode over with his gir
Felix and the others followed closely behind.
“M–Mr. Russell?!” one of the young men blurted out, their voices trembling as they recognized Theodore walking over
The group instantly quailed. Whatever wealth they had was a joke compared to Theodore; he was on a whole different level.
Meanwhile, Felix walked over to Megan, who was huddled in the corner, trembling. Seeing her collar torn, he hesitated for a moment, then took off his suit jacket and gently draped it over her shoulders.
Megan flinched, looking up at him.
Her eyes were brimming with tears, her face pale—a far cry from her usual proud and confident self. Felix blurted out, “Hey, don’t be scared. It’s us.”
Megan looked at him and murmured in disbelief, “Mr. Yates?”
“How come you’re here by yourself?” Felix asked. ‘Shouldn’t a big star like her be surrounded by an entourage and bodyguards?” he Bwondered.
Megan slowly came back to her senses, her soft look hardening with anger. “I just landed a role in a police drama with a ton of gun scenes. But my agent said they’d just get a stunt double for me, that I wouldn’t have to do it myself.
“I wasn’t having it, so I came here to practice, thinking I’d blow everyone away on set. I never thought I’d end up getting harassed by these assholes!”
