I Will Follow Amber
(Ryan’s POV)
I grimaced as another wave of pain shot through my ribs. Even will our werewolf healing abilities, broken bones were no joke The hospital room felt too small, too sterile, and Dominic’s late atilval only worsened my mood.
“Took you long enough,” I growled as he finally strolled in, looking Irritatingly casual in a gray sweater and sweatpants
Dominic raised an eyebrow. “I was busy.”
“Do you know what I had to do while you were ‘busy‘?” Issed, keeping my voice low despite my anger. “I had to use a urinal In front of Paige.”
Aslight twitch at the corner of his mouth betrayed his amusement. That sounds… uncomfortable.”
“Uncomfortable doesn’t begin to cover it!” I shifted and inedibly regretted it as pain lanced through my side. “And what are you wearing? Since when does the mighty Alpha heir dress like he’s heading to a sleepover?”
Dominic glanced down at his attire. “Amber likes this sweater. She’s worn it before.” His voice softened slighty. “It still carries
her scent.”
I rolled my eyes. “Please spare me the mated couple talk
“You wouldn’t understand,” he said with a smug smile. “The joys of spousal life are beyond your comprehension now, especially since you’ve managed to lose your fiancée.”
His blue eyes twinkled with satisfaction, and I felt my temper flare.
“If I wasn’t already injured, I’d hit you,” Tmuttered.
“You could try,” he replied, settling into the chair beside my bed with infuriating grace
I glared at him, but he merely looked amused. That was the thing bout Dominic–he never lost his composure, while I was always one step away from an outburst.
“So,” he said, his expression turning more serious. “Paige ended things.”
It wasn’t a question, but I answered anyway. “Yes.”
“She didn’t hesitate much, did she?” Dominic observed, his tone neutral but his words cutting deep “That suggests last night’s incident with Shannon hurt her more than you realized.”
I winced, and not from the physical pain this time. “I didn’t mean to hurt her.”
Dominic’s gaze was penetrating. “Paige and Amber are different, you know. They approach pain differently.
“What do you mean?
“Amber grew hp fighting for everything respect, love, a place in her own family. When she’s hurt, she becomes fiercer.” His voice held unmistakable pride. “Paige had a different upbringing. The Sullivan Pack protected her, supported her. She hasn’t developed the same calluses.”
I frowned, not liking where this was going. “Are you saying Paige is weak?”
“Not weak,” Dominic corrected. “Just differently armored. Amber’s been through things that would break other she–wolves. She’s built differently.”
The way he spoke about Amber–with such admiration–made me wonder if I’d ever truly appreciated Paige the same way.
“What’s your point?” I asked, my painkiller–fogged brain struggling to follow his reasoning.
Dominic’s lips curved into a half–smile. “Maybe I just wanted to brag about my mate.”

I snorted, but he continued more seriously
“You need to handle the Shannon situation properly,” he advised, “She’s causing problems in our territory, and If she continues, she’ll find herself in trouble.”
His tone carried a warning that made my wolf stir uneasily.
“And as for Esige,” he continued, “decide what you want. If you try want her as your partner, fight for her. If not, let her go completely. Don’t keep her emotionally entangled.
Ishifted uncomfortably, not just from the pain in my ribs, Dominidhad an annoying habit of being right.
“Enough about me,” I said, eager to change the subject. “What happened this morning? You came to the hospital and then suddenly disappeared”
A shadow crossed Dominic’s face. “There was an incident at the pick house. Lucas broke something important.”
“What was it?” I asked, though already suspected.
“My mother’s healing crystal”
Twinced. Everyone knew that crystal was one of the few possessions left of Grace Blackwood, Dominic’s mother. It had enomous sentimental value to both Dominic and William.
“That’s… unfortunate,” I said carefully, knowing how significant the loss was. The crystal had been a fixture beside Wilban’s bed for years, a tangible connection to his lost mate.
Sensing Dominic didn’t want to dwell on it, I switched to a lighter topic. “So, were you with Amber last night? You two seem
cozy
To my surprise, Dominic’s expression turned slightly troubled “She wasn’t entirely satisfied with my performance.
Iblinked, not sure I’d heard correctly. “Your–performance?”
“In bed,” he clarified, his usual confidence momentarily absent. “She says I’m not good.”
I couldn’t help it–Tlaughed, then immediately clutched my ribs in pain. “The great Dominic Blackwood, not good at something? I never thought I’d see the day.”
He glared at me, but there was a vulnerability there I rarely saw. “It’s not amusing.”
I sobered, realizing this actually mattered to him. “Look, it’s probably not about technique. It’s about connection, making sure she’s enjoying herself too.”
“How?” he asked, and I was struck by how eamest he looked.
“Foreplay,” I said simply. “Take your time. Make sure she’s ready before you… you know
Dominic nodded, clearly
ly filing this information away. “I’ll remember that.”
“By the way,” he said after a moment, “Amber mentioned something about a Moonflower Shop. Do you know anything about it?
ary. “The flower state she financed a few years ago? Yeah, I remember Paige mentioning it.”
The name triggered a memory. “The
“What do you know about the owner? Dominic asked, his tone casual but his eyes intent.
I thought back to conversations I’d overheard between Paige and Amber. “Not much. Female werewolf from outside Silvercrest. Returned after being away for about ten years.”
”
Dominic’s expression sharpened. “Ten years? That would coincide with Amber’s kidnapping as a teenager. ”
“Now that you mention it, yes,” I agreed, surprised I hadn’t made the connection before. “That was when her woll emerged

connection to Amber’s past, hot | lurven’t
Dominic nodded, his eyes distant. “I’ve looked into the owner. There’s definitely a com pushed for details. I respect my mate’s privacy.”
His jaw tightened slightly. “But the kidnapping caused her early transformation, which led to her struggles with control. I wonder what other secrets she’s keeping ”
His blue eyes nattrowed slightly, and I couldn’t tell if he was concerned or intrigued by the mystery surrounding his mate.
(Third–person’s POV).
The next moming. Paige stood in Ryan’s office, resignation letter hand. Her posture was straight, her resolve firm despite the sadness in berryes
“I’m leaving Quinn Pack Business Enterprises,” she said, placing the letter on his desk. “Effective immediately.”
Ryan stared at the paper, then at her. “You’re serious about this?
“Completely.” Her wolf Amy whimpered sadly inside her, but Paige ignored it.
“And you’re going to work with Amber? At her small photography studio?” Ryan couldn’t keep the skepticism from

his voice.
Amber, who had accompanied Paige for moral support, stepped forward, “Actually, we’re relocating to a more central location in Silvercrest. I’ve been thinking about it for a while.”
Ryan looked between the two women, realizing they were serious. This seems… Impulsive.
“It’s not,” Amber assured him. “I’ve been planning to expand my supernatural clientele. With Paige’s business expertise, now is the perfect time.”
Paige nodded, herexpression softening slightly. “I need this, Ryan Afresh start.”
He could see the determination in her eyes and knew arguing would be pointless. “I understand. I hope it works out for y
As they left his office, Paige felt a weight lift from her shoulders. The decision had been difficult, but necessary.
“Where should we start looking for new space?” she asked Amber, already shifting into business mode,
Amber grinned, excitement lighting her amber eyes. “I have a few places in mind. Let’s go see them today.”
While Amber and Paige embarked on their new venture, the rest of Silvercrest was buzzing with activity and tension
Ryan found himselt under increasing pressure from the Quinn Pack elders to reconcile with Paige. The alliance between their families had been anticipated for years, and the sudden breakup was causing ripples throughout the pack hierarchy.
“You need to fix this,” his father had told hini bluntly during a tense pack meeting. “The Sullivan connection is too valuable to
Across town, Ethan and Melissa’s marriage was showing signs of strain. Lucas’s new position at Shadowpeak Investments- directly under Dominic’s supervision–had become a point of contention.
“Why is your cousin suddenly taking an interest in Lucas?” Melissa demanded, her face flushed with anger. “He’s trying to turn everyone against mel”
Ethan sighed, tired of the constant drama, “Lucas got the job on his own merits. Not everything is about you,

Melissa bristled but knew better than to defy her mother–in–law directly. Her position in the pack was still too precarious
Victoria was facing her own challenges. Melanie had become increasingly insistent about a potential match with the heir of the Alliance Pack.
“He’s visiting next month,” Melanie informed her over breakfast I expect you to make a favorable impression.”
Victoria’s smile didn’t reach her eyes. “Of course,
Mother,”
Henry wasn’t spared either:Melanie had begun dropping not–so–subtle hints about suitable mates for her son.
“The Sullivan Pack has several eligible daughters,” she mentioned casually. “Now that Paige Is… available again.”
Henry merely grunted, unwilling to engage.
Amid all this, Harrison Chase reached his limit with Amber’s delay in formally introducing her mate. He called her directly, his tone leaving no room for negotiation.
“Bring Dominic to dinner this weekend,” he instructed. “We need to discuss territorial rights and the future relationship between our packs.”
Harrison’s invitation
