Just as Eliana was nearing the main gate, she saw a car pulling out of the driveway. It was Anthony. He brought the vehicle to a stop rolled the window down. “Hey, Eliana, are you heading out?”

Anthony said with a smile. T’ve got plans with Alice. Where are you going? I can give you a ride.”
Upstairs on the second floor, Theodore stood behind the window, watching the scene unfold. His expression instantly turned cold and sharp.

Barbara was unwilling to leave, but not wanting to be kicked out, she used Eliana as an excuse. “That woman asked me to look after you before she left.”

There was a pause. Then, in a voice that allowed no room for question, Theodore said, “She’s my wife. Her name is Eliana.”
