Chapter 61
It was exactly what Theodore wanted to hear, though he wore a look of indifference and replied, “Fine”
Eliana complained inwardly, He obviously wanted to exchange numbers, What’s with the act?”
with a playful pout, she reached for the phone he handed her and asked without thinking, “What’s the password? I’ve got a terrible memory
The last time she used his phone was to call and confront Samuel about spiking the massage oil
“No password.” Theodore said in a low voice.
While Eliana had been in the kitchen preparing food, his vision returned: The first thing he did was delete the lock screen password, which, until then, was Alice’s birthday, Just like Eliana said to him, he did think he should no longer live under her shadow.
Eliana swiped the screen and was surprised to find it unlocked immediately.
She didn’t dwell on it and tapped into his contacts. After saving her number, she said, “I saved mine right next to Dr. Wilson’s, so you can easily reach either of us”
Theodore frowned at that. Her words sounded sharp and unpleasant to his ears. He asked, “Why would you put it next to his
Eliana quipped, “Well, he’s your doctor, and I’m your caregiver.””
She really doesn’t see herself as my wife at all, Theodore thought grimly
He scowled and instructed, “Put yours at the top.”
Eliana blinked, a little surprised. She took a quick glance through his contacts earlier and noticed they were all high–profile business contacts like CEOs executives, or names that exuded power.
“He wants my number at the top? Does that mean I actually matter to him?” she wondered, and the thought made her feel a little better.
Following his request, she placed her number at the very top of his contact list.
She then stood up and walked toward the small windows, wanting to air out the room a bit, But the moment she neared the floor–to–ceiling window, she noticed a barely visible crack running through the glass.
Turning her head slowly, she looked at Theodore sitting silently with his eyes lowered. “Mr. Russell, that crack in the glass… you wouldn’t happen to know anything about it?”
“It’s faulty material,” Theodore said flatly. He just struck it once, and it cracked.
Eliana raised her brows and said, “So you’re admitting it was you,
Theodore didn’t answer, but his face clouded. He looked like he was one sentence away from leaping up and biting her.
Eliana, however, was unfazed. After all, she paid for that window. She said in a stern torve, “Mr. Russell, don’t you think you should do something about this habit of throwing and breaking things whenever you’re angry?”
Theodore didn’t ke it either. It was something he picked up after losing his sight. Whenever rage took hold, he needed to destroy someth
Eliana’s gaze softened with seriousness. “You need to learn some self–control.”
What Theodore didn’t say was that he had already come a long way
Two years ago, in a fit of fury, he accidentally pushed someone down the staircase from the second floor. Ever since then, he’d locked himself away.

He didn’t want to hurt another living soul. So when the rage came, he took it out on inanimate things instead.
The next moment, a pair of small hands gently cupped his face. Eliana’s soft voice rang out. “Mr. Russell, they say your first love betrayed you. That’s it. the more reason for you to rise above it. Show her what kind of man she let go.”
For a long while, Theodore’s throat worked with a slow swallow. Then he replied, “Don’t call me that anymore”
Eliana tilted her head and asked, “Then what should I call you?”
“My name,” he said, barely above a whisper.
Allowing her to use his name–that was as intimate as he knew how to be.
Eliana asked with a smirk, “But I call Anthony Mr. Russell sometimes. Don’t you mind?”
A knot instantly formed between Theodore’s brows, and he growled, “Don’t mention him to me,”
Before he could reach for her again, Eliana swiftly stepped out of his range and leaned against the window, her smile teasing. “Hope we can get along
with each other, Theodore.”
Late at night. Theodore opened his eyes and looked at Eliana, who had somehow curled herself around him once again in her sleep.
His deep gaze lingered–first on her delicate eyebrows, then her patite nose, and finally on her rosy lips.
Her lips gave off a coquettish charm, yet sometimes, the words that came from those lips made him boil with frustration and made him want to… silence
her with a kiss.
In fact, that was exactly what he did.
From the moment she’d said, “That’s all the more reason for you to rise above it. Show her what kind of man she let go, he’d wanted to do this.
Just then, a soft ding rang out from the pillow beside Elianal
Theodore released her lips and glanced over. On her phone screen, a message popped up: [Ellie, I regret it.
e was from someone named Luke.
The message was
Theodore’s eyes narrowed, and he wondered, ‘Ellie? That’s awfully familiar. And saying he regrets it? That name is definitely a guy
He turned back to look at Eliana, who was fast asleep, peaceful and unaware. Reaching over, he picked up her phone and typed a reply. She’s exhausted and already asleep. If you have something to say, you can tell me. I’ll pass it to her tomorrow.
He hit “Send“, yet no response came anymore..
Theodore gave a cold chuckle, deleted the entire conversation thread, and put the phone back in its place.
Next, he reached out to pinch her soft cheek and gave a low hum. “Still attracting attention after you are married? Not well–behaved, are you?”
Eliana, completely unaware, simply nuzzled against his fingertips in her sleep like a kitten. The sight made his heart soften.
ning, Eliana came to Starlight Media. Just as she was about to walk through the door, someone ran up from behind and grabbed her arm.
The next morning,
Startled, Eliana turned around. Seeing it was Luke, she immediately put on a long face

She yanked her arm free and snapped, “What are you doing here again? Didn’t I tell you last time? If you want to see Hannah, just am that Maserat straight at her. She’s always sitting inside it.”
Luke didn’t even mention Hannah. His bloodshot eyes were fixed on Eliana as he said, “You’re living with another
Noticing people glancing in their dection, Eliana instantly covered his mouth and dragged him into a secluded corner. Only then did she glare at him and ask, “Did Hannah tell you that?”
“No, your man did,” Luke bit out, his eyes brimming with hurt. “I tested you last night. He replied and said you were already step
Eliana stared at him, utterly confused. “What nonsense are you talking about? He’s blind. How would he even reply to your message?”
Luke’s eyes widened in disbelief. “What did you say? You’re with a blind guy?“
“Watch your mouth. You’re perfectly able–bodied but utterly useless.” Eliana pushed him away, livid, and snapped. “Get lost. I have work to do
Luke stood there, stunned as he watched her storm off. The way she defended that man reminded him too much of how she used to defend him. A surge of bitterness rushed up his throat. He demanded, “Who is he? What gives him the right?”
