Chapter 63
Hannah thought, “Nolan drove Eliana somewhere? That’s impossible!
Her fingers suddenly Lightened around the documents, but she quickly forced a calm smile and said, “They must have gone to discuss Russell. After all, Ellie is in charge of his engagement party now
Jennifer gave her a scrutinizing look and suddenly chuckled. “Rumors about Mr. Hall and Eliana are flying everywhere. And yet you, as his girlfriend, don’t seem even a little worried. Impressive.”
A cold glint flashed in Hannah’s eyes. She leaned in close to Jenniler’s ear and whispered with a smile, “Maybe that’s why Nolan kesme, not you
“You” Jennifer was so furious that she felt a stab in her chest.
But Hannah simply gave a small laugh, turned on her heels, and walked off, though her steps were noticeably more hurried than when

Meanwhile, in the car, Nolan was still digesting what Eliana
Lana had said. “What? The Therapy Center is being tom down for redevelopment
Eliana stared straight ahead, anxious. “Yes. I heard some spoiled young heir has his eye on the land. He wants to buy it at a high price and turn it into a nightclub
Nolan frowned, “From a public welfare center to a nightclub? That’s pretty ironic.”
Eliana clenched and unclenched her fists, then clenched them again. “He has money. He can do whatever he wants with it. But I won’t let that place go
without a fight”
“I know. Your sister
Nolan suddenly paused and then corrected himself. “I mean, Hannah mentioned that you spent three years there when you were young you see it as a second home.”
To Eliana, she cared about that place more than she ever cared about the Burke family. But that kind of attachment wasn’t something outsiders could understand. Eliana simply turned her gaze to the window, not wanting to say more.
Seeing this, Nolan said nothing else and pressed harder on the gas pedal toward the Therapy Center.
At the Therapy Center, several female therapists were holding hands in a human chain, trying to block a group of men in black suits from entering. But in both numbers and force, they were clearly outmatched.
Finally, the man at the front kicked over a flowerpot and snapped, “I already told you I just want to take a lookinside. I’m not gonna hurt those little ones. Are you deaf or what?”
One of the women said firmly. “But Mr. Wiley, your behavior has made us feel unsafe.”
“You got that right, I am dangerous, especially when some ugly woman keeps rejecting me,” Clinton Wiley sneered, then raised his hand and ordered, “Enough talking Push through.”
“Yes, sir,” the men responded in unison.
Just as chaos erupted at the entrance, Eliana and Nolan arrived. Eliana quickly unfastened her seatbelt and reached for the door h
Nolan grabbed her arm and said, “This kind of situation is too dangerous for you to handle alone. I’ll go with you.”
Eliana was about to tell Nolan to leave when Nolan’s phone rang. Taking advantage of the distraction, she said a quick thanks and stepped out of the car
“Wait” Nolan called out, rushing to answer his phone as he followed Eliana. “Hello?”
Chapter 63
“Nolan, where are you?” came Hannah’s voice.
“What’s up, Harmal?” Nolan replied distractedly. His thoughts were split–half on Hannah’s possible les, halfion Eliana’s safety
“Henry, my stomach really hurts. Can you come stay with me? Please,” Hannah said in
Hearing that, Nolan instinctively stopped in his tracks. The words slipped out of his mouth before he could think “Okay, came night back;
But just as Nolan turned to leave, he hesitated and glanced back, only to see Eliana gripping a nearby shovel and striking one of the men across the back
with it
At that moment, Nolan realized that Eliana was nothing like how Hannah had described her weak willed and timid. On the contrary, the radiated a fierce energy that made it impossible for him to look away.
After a beat, Nolane pulled out his phone. First, he called the police. Then, with a brief moment of internal struggle, he dialed a number he’d never dared to call before.
A few seconds later, the line connected. Nolan said urgently, “Mr. Hussell, Eliana’s in trouble.”
“Oh? Where is she?” In a high–end restaurant, a refined man swirled the wine in his glass, his voice composed.
After getting the location, Anthony ended the call and turned to the woman across the table. “Alice, something urgent came up. I’m afraid I can’t stay and finish lunch with you.”
Alice dabbed at her lips with a napkin and looked at him with quiet understanding “it’s alright, I can get myself home later.”
“Love you, babe Anthony leaned over, kissed her forehead, and picked up his suit jacket before walking away.
Alice lowered her gaze slightly to mask her emotions. His affection felt more like one would offer a pet.
At that same moment, at Russell Manor.
Samuel had just entered Theodore’s room and immediately whistled in admiration, “Wow, this setup is something else. Even installed floor–to–ceiling windows now!”
Theodore pressed his lips into a thin line and replied, “You’re here to check my eyes, not to critique my interior design.”
“Alright.” Samuel set down his medical kit and said, “Let me wash my hands and sanitize first, then get started.”
“OK.” Theodore could hardly wait to find out how much his vision had recovered.
Just then, his phone rang. Surprised, he saw Anthony’s name on the screen.
He answered but didn’t speak right away. On the other end, Anthony’s voice came through with a faint trace of amusement. “Theodore, something’s happened to Ellie*
Theodore’s expression clouded instantly. He asked. “What did you say?”
Anthony replied, “Her boss called me and said she got into a conflict at some place called the Therapy Center. But don’t worry. I’ play the right role.”
Theodore shot to his feet, His voice dropped to a frigid tone. “Where is she?”
ly on my way t
“Man, even if I told you, it’s not like you can make it there,” Anthony replied with a chuckle. “But I wonder… after helping Eliana so many times, will she finally start seeing me differently like Alice once did?”
Chapter 63
“ANTHONY,” Theodore growled
“Oh, no time to chat. I’ve gotta rescue her now.” After that, the call ended–cut off by Anthony without another word.
Theodore bolted from the rooth without hesitation, like a storm suddenly unleashed.
Just outside the door, a maid who had been secretly eavesdropping almost stopped breathing when he flung the door open all of a sudden. Her heart nearly thumped out of her chest.
Following the protocol Wyatt had drilled
ed into them, she held her breath and stayed utterly still. She thought, ‘I’I don’t move, he won’t notice was
listening.
But Theodore’s piercing gaze fell straight on her. It was chilling, razor sharp, and almost inhumanı.
The maid collapsed onto the floor in fright, her mind racing. ‘Wasn’t Mr. Theodore Russell supposed to be blind? Why is his stare so terr
Back in the room, Samuel just came out of the bathroom and looked around, bewildered. “What’s going on? Mr. Russell?”
From outside the door came the maid’s voice, trembling on the verge of tears. “M–Mr. Theodore Russell… ran out.”
