Reece frowned and said nothing.
As he watched Julissa go upstairs, a strange feeling seized his heart.
“It’s getting late. Ask James to take you home.”
Cristina was surprised. It’d been days since they met. But he was already asking her to leave?
“Reece…“Cristina’s slim body.leaned forward as she tried to put her head on Reece’s chest. She looked at Reece se- ductively with her beautiful eyes. “I don’t want to go home alone. Let me stay and keep you company, OK?”
Reece stepped back calmly.
“Ask James to take you home.”
The first time he said it, it was a gentle suggestion. This time, it was an order.
Afterward, Reece went upstairs too.
Cristina stood on the spot, fuming.
She thought angrily, “That bitch clearly mocked Reese. But he isn’t mad?!”
Cristina gritted her teeth. However, when James came over, she put on a nice smile, pretending to be considerate.
Julissa went back to her room. Everything was the same.
It was like she had been kicked out yesterday.
The memory was still fresh and she still felt pathetic.
Julissa took a shower to clear her head. When she left the bathroom in merely a towel, Reece was sitting on the
couch.
Julissa panicked and frantically searched for her clothes. In her hurry, she slipped and fell, face forward.
She thought, “No! No! This is embarrassing.”
She closed her eyes. But after a while, she didn’t feel the impact of the cold floor.
Instead, a strong grip held her up.
The hand was colder than the floor.
Reece paused for a second when he grabbed Julissa’s soft arm, a complicated emotion glimmering in his eyes.

Julissa was tossed to the bed. She immediately went under the cover like a scared cat.
“It’s late… What are you doing in my room?!”

Reece sat on the bed, not facing Julissa. Moonlight shone in and formed a long shadow behind him. His black shirt had strengthened his natural dominating aura.
“You never said you were a jewelry designer. Why?”
Julissa was caught off guard.
“You came over at this hour just to ask me this?”
Reece looked at her and teased, “What? You expect me to do more?”
Julissa tsked. “No, I’m not Cristina. This isn’t funny.”
Reece’s expression darkened.
“Did you come out of the bathroom naked too when you were in the Fowlers‘ house?”
Julissa’s eyes widened.
“Naked?! I have a towel around me! Can’t you see it?!”
Before Reece could answer, a knock came.
“Who is it?”
“It’s me, Reece.” Cristina’s sweet voice came from behind the door.
Reece paused briefly before getting up to open the door.
Watching his rapid action, Julissa said inwardly, “Guess things are different when it comes to his beloved Cristina.”
“Reece…” Cristina stood in front of Reece once he opened the door. She kept her head and said, “You’re injured. I’m worried. Even if I go home, I won’t be able to sleep.”
Cristina’s fair and small face made her seem more delicate.
Cristina wasn’t wearing lipstick and looked sickly with her pale lips.
“Alright. Stay the night.” Reece didn’t insist.
“You and Ms. Rivera…” Cristina chanced a peek at the room. “It’s late. What are you talking about?”
Cristina was good at acting passive–aggressive. She asked Reece pitifully in a roundabout way to make him feel guilty.
It worked, especially on tough guys like Reece.
“Nothing.” Reece wrapped his arm around Cristina’s shoulder and left the room with her. “We were just talking about

the divorce.”
Julissa couldn’t hear the rest, but she had an idea of what they’d talk about.

She turned and closed her eyes. However, the scene had played on a loop in her mind.
The night passed.
Reece went to work early in the morning. Julissa’s plan was to sneak out. But the bodyguards caught her.
“I’m sorry, Ms. Rivera. You can’t leave the house. Mr. Diaz’s order.”
She thought, “Reece is serious about not letting me leave before the divorce?”
Rejected, she returned to her room. Then she heard Cristina’s snide comment. “You’re running out again? Are you try- ing to keep Reece by your side by delaying the divorce?”
Cristina was sitting in the living room, a cup of tea in her hands. She looked like a graceful lady, not the innocent girl in love last night.
Julissa didn’t bother to retort and headed upstairs.
“I have to warn you. Stay away from Reece. We grew up together. He loves me. You’re just a homewrecker!”
Julissa had enough.
“Ms. Hurley, if you’re that confident in your love, why do you have to warn me?”
Cristina’s expression darkened.
“Also, I’m not the homewrecker here. Before the divorce is finalized; I’m still Reece’s wife.”
“Hey!” Cristina was enraged. “It’s your fault! You’re shameless! You played dirty to marry Reece!”
It hit a sore spot in Julissa.
Although it was coming from Cristina, she probably heard it from Reece.
“So? Because of this, Cristina Hurley, Miss Perfect, is cursing me out like a hex? You’re even pointing a finger at me,” Julissa smirked. “What if I was recording? What would Reece think when he hears it?”
She put her hand in her pocket.
⚫ Cristina panicked.
“Leave me alone. Don’t mess with me until the divorce is finalized. Or I’ll fight back.”
Julissa turned and walked away.
She stayed in Harmony Villa for the next week but never saw a divorce lawyer. Someone was supposed to come to talk to her about the divorce. Julissa sensed something was off. The waiting period was over and she was willing to leave without any settlement. What was taking so long?

“When will I see the divorce papers?” Julissa asked with a frown. “I signed it last time.”
Reece looked up from the file in his hands. “There are other files that need your signature.
“When am I signing them then?”
Reece looked back down, obviously not continuing the conversation.
“I don’t know.”
Seething, Julissa gritted her teeth. Out of the corner of her eye, she saw what Reece was reading.
It was a new jewelry design picture with Cristina’s signature on it.
Did Cristina draw another design after that event?
Julissa frowned.
“Reece, you must truly love Ms. Hurley. The scandal has just been days. You’re already helping her return to the pub- lic eye.”
Julissa had no idea of the severity of it.
