“Officer.” Julissa pointed to the wound on her head. “I demand to press charges against these people for assault. There are cameras here. The evidence is undeniable.”
The wound on Julissa’s head proved what she said.
“Take them all away,” the police officer said, and everyone present was thrown into a panic.
Once they were taken to the police station and the incident was confirmed, regardless of how severe the punishment was, their records would bear the stain of “having been detained“.
It could never be erased.
Their jobs would be lost.
They wanted to beg for mercy, but it was already too late.
After the commotion that lasted the entire afternoon, the crowd finally began to disperse slowly. Karlie rushed over, looking at Julissa with concern.
“Julissa, are you okay? Your forehead is bleeding. Let’s go inside so I can treat it.”
“No need.”
Julissa’s eyes were cold and distant as she looked at the black Maybach parked across the street.
She walked towards it step by step.
“Mr. Diaz, Ms. Rivera is coming over.”
Only then did Reece’s cold eyes slowly open.
He thought, “She has learned her lesson?
“Coming back to me now means she isn’t hopelessly foolish.”
“Go get some iodine tincture.”
James‘ eyes lit up instantly as he heard Reece’s order.
He knew it all along. Reece couldn’t be that heartless.
Just as James got out of the car, he saw Julissa call the hospital’s security over. They stopped a few meters away from Reece’s car.
She said something to the security guard, pointed at Reece’s car, and then turned to leave,

Reece was looking at documents and didn’t notice what was happening outside.
James was sent back into the car by the security guard.
“So fast.”
Reece looked up in confusion. “Where’s the iodine tincture?”
James gave a bitter smile.
“Mr. Diaz, the security guard said this was a no–parking zone and asked us to leave immediately.”
Reece’s anger grew.
“Does he know whose car this is?”
In Archdale, no one dared to block Reece’s car.
James nodded resignedly.
“Mr. Diaz, but this is the Fowler family’s hospital.”
Reece’s expression was stern as he watched Julissa’s retreating figure.
He thought, “This woman really is stubborn.”
In the few seconds it took for the engine to start, Julissa’s figure was still in Reece’s sight.
She didn’t look back once.
He had wanted to watch her suffer and come crawling back to him..
But now, Julissa’s retreating figure seemed like she really had the determination to never turn back.
“Mr. Diaz, where should we go now?”
After leaving the hospital, Reece irritably pulled off his tie.
“Back to the company.”
Julissa got her wound treated at the hospital and was ready to leave.

She didn’t want to be the target of manipulation. She thought, “Why should Reece and Cristina’s happiness be built on my pain?
“Amicable breakups sound like a joke.”
When Julissa saw Reece coldly watching her being humiliated, all her illusions about him were shattered.
She had loved him so much. He reached heights in his teens that others could never touch in a lifetime. But now, he had fallen from grace for a woman, succumbing to his selfishness and stubbornness, tumbling into the mundane world.

What Julissa needed to do next was to prepare all the evidence and make those who spread rumors pay one by one.
The online abuse gradually decreased as more and more small media outlets were summoned by the police for rumor- mongering.
Every day, there were official announcements about banning those influential accounts that spread rumors on purpose and summoning and detaining those netizens who spread a large number of rumors.
After a while, it indeed deterred many people who followed suit.
But there was no official announcement about Archdale Daily.
Even Julissa’s lawsuit application was repeatedly put on hold.
The reason was simple. Archdale Daily was backed by the Diaz family. With a word from the Diaz family, they could

as Julissa was vexed, Zayne, who hadn’t been seen for days, sent a message, “We’ve found the person who fled from the Archdale Notary Office.”
Julissa was extremely excited. Finding this person would make everything much simpler.
Cristina couldn’t escape the charge of bribing the staff members of the Archdale Notary Office.
“Her name is Shyla Owen. I had someone follow her for a few days, hoping to uncover more evidence, but she left Cristina’s villa and went to a hotel without interacting with anyone, She seemed wary of us. I was afraid she would disappear, so I sent people to bring her back first.”
“Getting her is enough. We’ll find a way to make her confess.” Julissa closed her laptop and stood up. “I’m coming right now.”
Julissa and Zayne agreed to meet at the Fowler’s home because, given the current situation, it was the safest place.
But as soon as Julissa arrived, she saw Zayne’s gloomy expression.
“What’s wrong?”
“Shyla’s dead.”
Julissa’s eyes widened,
“How could this happen?.”
“My people were bringing her here when they encountered a drunk driver. The two cars collided, and Shyla died from severe injuries.”
Julissa thought, “A drunk driver.

“A car accident.
“How could it be so coincidental?
“Cristina is despicable, but she’s a woman. She wouldn’t dare to kill anyone.”
A chill ran through Julissa’s heart, spreading throughout her body and causing her fingers to tremble.
She thought, “Reece, you actually went to such lengths to protect Cristina.”
Julissa couldn’t calm down for a long time.
Meanwhile, Reece received the news almost at the same time as Julissa.
“Was it an accident?”

Reece stood upright in front of the floor–to–ceiling windows on the top floor of the Diaz Group. The neon lights were dazzling, and the light and shadow enveloped him, adding a sense of mystery.
“We’ve checked. The drunk driver has no powerful connections. It is probably an accident.”
Reece put down his wine glass. “Keep looking into it and find out which direction the car came from before the crash.”
“Got it.”
Reece thought, “Zayne killed someone to set up a trap?”
Reece smiled slightly with interest.
“Mr. Diaz, there’s something else.”
“Go on.”
“The editor–in–chief of Archdale Daily has been waiting for you in the reception hall since early this morning. Do you want to see him?”
“I have no time.”
“Alright, I’ll go and turn him away.”
In the reception hall, Bernard Medina, the editor–in–chief of Archdale Daily, sat on a chair.
Already in his twilight years with graying hair, he still had to personally come and plead.
“Mr. Mack.” Bernard saw James come in and quickly rose respectfully, looking behind him. “Where’s Mr. Diaz?”
“Mr. Diaz is very busy. You can leave now.”
“I can’t.” The air conditioning in the reception hall was powerful, yet he still had cold sweat trickling down his fore- head. “Archdale Daily released the news to help the Diaz Group create some buzz and arouse nationwide attention, and we did achieve that. out.”
James hated such people. He coldly stared at him.
“So, Mr. Medina, you mean you were trying to latch onto a powerful ally but ended up with the wrong one?”
Bernard’s face turned red. It was embarrassing for a man of his age to be mocked by a young person.

But now, for the sake of Archdale Daily, the place where he had dedicated 40 years of hard work, he had no choice but to swallow his pride and smile apologetically.
“Moreover…” Bernard, out of options, had to lean in and whisper, “If even Archdale Daily falls, then the rumors about Julissa being a homewrecker, going to Neo Club, and so on will all become completely defamatory.
“If these things are defamatory, that will give Julissa a chance to turn things around.
“If so, Ms. Hurley will be unhappy.”
