Chapter 5
Watching Sharon struggle on the ground with terror written all
over her face, Alexander burst into tears of malicious glee.
“Lord Deity would never want a slut like you. You’re absolutely delusional!
“Charlotte is a virgin, wealthy, beautiful, and considerate. I truly regret choosing you over her!” Alexander regretted his choice and knelt down, begging Christopher to spare me.
“Please spare Charlotte. She’s not the ritual bride at all. Your
bride is Sharon! But she’s been impure for ages and is completely unworthy of you!”
Christopher lifted me up, his entire being radiating a bone–chilling murderous aura.
Alexander and Sharon were both hurled into the air before
crashing down heavily.
“Who did this?”
Both Alexander and Sharon were stunned, not understanding
Christopher’s question.
Sharon thought he was asking about her loss of virginity and quickly shifted the blame. “Those townspeople forced me. It
wasn’t voluntary. I’ll be loyal to you!”

The terrified townspeople outside frantically pleaded for mercy, claiming that Sharon had actively seduced them.
Turns out most of the men in town had been with her!
Alexander was furious and timidly defended himself, “I never touched her. It was all those other guys. My girlfriend is
Charlotte…”
Before he could finish, Sharon and Alexander were launched into
the air again, slamming into the wall and coughing up blood.
Christopher was cold, violent, and had serious communication
issues.
I knew humans and gods could never marry.
Christopher continued his icy interrogation, “Who did this to her?”
Seeing me playing dead in Christopher’s arms, Sharon and Alexander showed expressions of disbelief and terror.
It finally dawned on them that Christopher was talking about me.
They hadn’t expected my words to be true–that I really knew Christopher, and that sending me up the mountain would indeed bring them misfortune.
Alexander, suddenly realizing the situation, rushed to speak, “It was Sharon! She did all of this! 274

“Charlotte is my girlfriend. I would never treat her like this.”
Sharon glared at Alexander and spat up another mouthful of blood in rage.
She angrily retorted, “You’re the one who tricked her into coming back! I don’t believe you didn’t do anything to her these past two
years! There’s no way she’s still a virgin!”
Christopher was clearly unsatisfied with their answers, his fury
reaching new heights.
Sharon and Alexander collapsed on the ground as their bones
made eerie grinding sounds, their screams echoing through the
air.
The townspeople trembled in fear, confused and not daring to
make a sound.
The overwhelming pressure emanating from Christopher was
enough to make these mortals quake with terror.
Sharon tentatively said, “I understand now. Lord Deity has fallen in love with Charlotte. Are you upset because Charlotte isn’t a
virgin?
“She’s nearly dead anyway. Just consider her a sacrificial offering for the ritual. I’ll take good care of you. I should have bee bride all along.”

Sharon flew up and crashed down, landing directly on top of
Alexander.

Christopher looked at my horribly disfigured face, his lips
trembling slightly.
“How dare you treat her like this?”
Then he stared at me intently.
“You refused to stay no matter what back then, went out and found such a man, and even gave him the money I gave you!
“What’s so good about him compared to me? You like this kind of trash?”
