Chapter 20
Eliana thought, ‘He makes it sound like ! totally took advantage of him. She couldn’t help but say, “Then should i give it back to your).
Theodore was speechless as his face darkened instantly.
Seeing that, Fliana couldn’t hold
back her laughter. “I’m kidding. I’ll go run your bath.”
As her clear, light laugh echoed in his ears, Theodore was irritated but at the same time, his heartbeat felt strangely alive.
In the bathroom, after filling the tub, Eliana suddenly remembered the rose essential oil Samuel had given her. She then added a few drops into the water out of goodwill.
Once Theodore went in to take his bath, Eliana finally had time to go downstairs for dinner.
At the table, Lainey remained cold toward her as always. Jayden even made faces at her in secret. Anthony, on the other hand, was the only one viho treated her nicely.
For some reason, Eliana felt more at ease facing Theodore than being here with them. At least Theodore, though fierce, made her feel something real
So, the first thing she did after finishing her meal was to head back to their room.
Lainey was clearly displeased, thinking Eliana didn’t respect her as a mother–in–law at all.
“Mom, take it easy.” Anthony tried to calm her down. Then he asked, “What did Dr. Wilson say after checking Theodore’s eyes today?”
Lainey, now distracted, replied, “Same as always. The meds Samuel prescribed for Theodore are still being kept with Wyatt. Anthony, are we still switching them out?”
Anthony’s gaze shifted slightly, but in the end he said slowly, “Yes.”
On the second floor, Eliana walked into the room, planning to greet Theodore, “Mr. Russell-” But then a large hand suddenly grabbed her and cut her
off.
Before she could react, Theodore’s hand was already gripping her chin. Startled, she looked up and met his eyes–only to see them bloodshot.
Realizing something was off, Eliana quickly asked, “Mr. Russell, what’s wrong with you?”
“Eliana, you actually drugged me?” Theodore demanded.
“W–what?” Eliana stared at him in shock, thinking, ‘When did I drug him? Wait. What drug?‘
Theodore was convinced she was just pretending. He hated the way she kept putting on an innocent act in his eyes and blamed himself for ever letting his guard down around her.
He grumbled, “Still playing dumb? Didn’t you marry into this family just to have my child? Fine. I’ll give you what you want.”
The next morning, Eliana opened her eyes, exhausted, and saw that it was already nine. The memory of what had happened last night made her eyes well up with tears.
Just then, the bathroom door opened and Theodore stepped out in a bathrobe, his usual cold, refined look back in place. “Now th Hearing that icy tone, Eliana felt like whatever progress they’d made had all been erased and their relationship was worse than before.

Even so, she refused to admit to something she hadn’t done. “Believe it or not, I wasn’t the one who drugged you last night.”
Theodore said flatly, “If that’s what you’re claiming, then you’d better take precautions. Don’t come crying when it blows up in your face later
Eliana was so angry she burst into tears. He’d taken her virginity and didn’t have a single kind word to say–he even worried she’d use a baby to curry favor with Daniel.
She shot back, “You don’t have to worry. I don’t want to get pregnant with your child.”
At that, Theodore’s expression shifted slightly, but he quickly brushed off the faint discomfort rising in his chest. “Good.”
At Starlight Media, the moment Eliana arrived, her manager snapped, “Eliana, what’s going on with you? You’re over an hour late.”
