Jared started firing off a barrage of questions at Yvonne. “You still haven’t told me why you didn’t come home last night. Did Isabel arrange another place for you to stay so that you could avold me on purpose?
“You have no idea how worried I was! I didn’t sleep the entire nigl. You just want me to worry as a form of revenge against me, right?”
As he didn’t know Yvonne’s situation, he’d kept all his speculations to himself.
Yvonne simply walked around him, heading for her car. “I already fold you titat my affairs have nothing to do with you.”
She opened the car door and saw Jared running after her from the window’s reflection. She was very sensitive to such things now, so it was impossible for him to ambush her from behind anymore.
“This is a public location, Jared! Do you still intend to try something?”
Jared didn’t expect her to be so guarded against him. “Don’t leave Yvvy. We always go our separate ways before we’ve finished talking it out. Let’s not do that.”
As he was speaking, he suddenly noticed the auction item in the backseat of Yvonne’s car. The auction house always packaged their items in uniform packaging with the appropriate labels attached.
It seemed to trigger something within him, and he asked through labored breaths, “I really did see you at the auction house yesterday, Yvvy! How did you go straight to the auction house to reserve an item for a private auction right after being rescued?”
Yvonne had no intention of mentioning Samuel. “It’s none of your business.”
However, anger flared in Jared’s eyes, and he suddenly asked furiously, “How is it none of my business? Is someone helping you do all this? Is it a man? Who exactly was the man who picked you up in a luxury car and kept you from going home last night?
“If you wanted to get back at me and anger me by doing this, well, you’ve already succeeded! But you can’t behave so inappropriately with another man just to make me mad! I really will get angry!”
Jared admitted to himself that he’d already been provoked into anger. He wanted to keep Yvonne by his side, but she was now resisting him with unprecedented determination.
When Anthony arrived in his car and saw that the two were butting heads, he rushed over to stop them.
“Calm down, Jared. Don’t do anything drastic again,” he said placatingly while looking worriedly at Yvonne.
“You came at just the right time, Anthony. Keep him in check and make sure he stays far away from me,” instructed Yvonne.
She then got into her car and drove home.
“You’re not allowed to leave, Yvvy!” yelled Jared.
When he failed to get a response from her, he lost control of his emotions, wanting desperately to find her.
“You have no idea, Anthony. Yvonne is angry that I abandoned her yesterday. It was my fault, but how could she deliberately approach another man just because she’s angry with me? What do do if that man is actually Luther and he has ill intentions toward her? I’m so worried about her…”
Jared felt really miserable at the moment.
Anthony, who was still standing in front of him, frowned and said reasonably, “But you can’t resolve the mis derstanding between you and Yvonne when you’re so worked up.”
“Tell me what I should do then!” yelled Jared.
He really hated this feeling of losing control, whether it was control of Yvonne or himself.
Anthony said calmly, “Shane found out that Luther was indeed in Tidalus yesterday. The organizer who oversaw the auction in

Tidalus will also be coming to hold an auction in Jeriton City the day after tomorrow.

“We can find out whether Luther harbors malicious intentions through the auction and prevent him from deceiving Yvonne further.”
“So, the man who helped Yvvy really was Luther!” exclaimed Jared “Then… were Yvvy and Luther together last night?”
His heart clenched, but Anthony refuted the idea immediately. “Definitely not.”
He wasn’t deliberately saying that to comfort Jared; he simply understood what Yvonne was like.
“Yvonne is very devoted when it comes to love, and it’s Luther who wishes to pursue her affections. If you think about it rationally, how could Luther hold a greater place in her heart than you?”
His words seemed to reassure Jared, who said confidently, “You’re right. I won’t lose to Luther or any other man.”
Since Jared had now confirmed that Luther was indeed his rival in love, he would just have to completely eliminate Luther from the running. There would then be no more obstacles between him and Yvonne.
