What’s going on in your head all day? Ten minutes earlier, as soon as Lena and Anathea had arrived at Aetherbrook Hotel, the “manager berated them without hesitation.
“Didn’t I tell you to replace the flower arrangements in the private suite with the freshest ones by this afternoon? Look at the time now! Do you have any idea how late it is?”
Lena adjusted her black–framed glasses and mumbled, “But… you sent a message saying g it was for tomorrow aftemoon”
Moreover, the schedule had undergone several changes. Just when they had finally agreed on a time, itd been unexpectedly shifted to this afternoon. By the time Lena had completed her other responsibilities and noticed the message, she felt
overwhelmed.
The manager pointed at her angrily. “You still dare to argue?”
Frightened by his aggressive demeanor, Lena instinctively hid behind Anathea.
“That’s enough. Instead of wasting time here, we should replace the wilted flowers before the guests notice. Otherwise, if they bring it up later, it’ll be even harder to deal with.” Anathea said calmly.
The manager glanced at Anathea. Though she made a valid point, he still scoffed dismissively. “You think I don’t know that? Do I need you to tell me? Hurry up and come in to replace the flowers!”
With that, Anathea and Lena followed him into the private suite. However, the moment Anathea stepped inside and took in the scene, she froze for a second.
Apart from the extravagantly dressed escorts, there were several familiar faces–Theo, Adrian, and two other young scions from well–known corporations. They were all Gregory’s friends. Anathea’s gaze flickered toward the couch, and sure enough, there Gregory was
“What the fuck? What’s she doing here?” Theo also noticed Anatha, his expression darkening slightly.
They’d just spoken of the devil, and the devil had appeared. For a moment, he seriously wondered if Anathea had been clinging to Gregory so relentlessly that she’d even chased him all the way here.
Upon seeing Anathea, the others remained indifferent. To them, she was simply the former young lady of the Jacobson family who’d lost her significance after their downfall. They hadn’t heard much about her lately.
It was surprising to see her here. But what they didn’t know was that Anathea was Gregory’s wife.
In fact, among
ong the five people in the suite, besides Gregory himself, only Theo knew that Anathea was actually Mrs. Sinclair. The Sinclair family had kept their marriage secret from everyone else, and Gregory wasn’t about to mention it
Just like now, while Theo’s reaction was filled with obvious displeasure, Gregory remained utterly nonchalar. He didn’t even spare Anathea a glance, as if she were nothing more than a stranger.
The manager said respectfully, “I’m so sorry for the interruption. The floral arrangements in the suite were mistakenly left unchanged. I’ll have them replaced immediately.”
Then, he glared at Lena and warned her in a low voice, “Hurry up you forget again next time, you’ll be the one paying for it.”
Lena’s legs almost gave way from fear, but Anathea steadied her with a gentle hand and a comforting voice.
With a deep breath, Lena regained her composure and set to work She removed the wilted flowers from each vase while carefully selecting fresh blooms, rearranging them to suit the elegant atmosphere of the suite.
The escorts‘ gazes linger on Anathea, subtle hostility flickering in their eyes. Even without makeup, she was stunning.
Yet, Anathea paid them no attention. She quietly dedicated herself to her task.
No one in the sulte paid much attention to it. Instead, they started new round of poker, casually chatting among themselves.
