Chapter 58

Anathea let out a breath and was just about to leave. As she lifted her head, she caught sight of Gregory at the end of the hallway, talking on the phone. Sunlight streamed in through the windows, asting a long, sharpedged shadow of him on the floor

She paused. Xander had said Gregory brought him here, so of course, he was at the hospital, too

Gregory also looked in her direction. For a brief moment, their eye met. Anathea’s fingers curled slightly at her sides. She wasn’t sure if it was just her imagination, but she could vaguely sense Gregory’s gaze sweeping over her

He

le was, in fact, looking at her. She was wearing a pure white silk puse paired with a formfitting, pale Lavender fishtail skirt. He’d picked this outfit. It was a relatively modest design. Ascarf covered her neck, and the skirt reached past her knees, concealing every mark he’d left on her

Even so, her figure was undeniably striking. Though she’d lost weight, her curves reinained untouched. The soft, fitted fabric of her outfit traced the elegant lines of her body. Gregory’s eyes darked

Seeing he had no intention of speaking to her, Anathea didn’t acknowledge him either. Gregory never acted close to her in public, anyway. She turned right and disappeared from his sight

Gregory held his phone, his gaze narrowing slightly

On the other end of the call, the lawyer, Edward Chandler, cautiously said, Mr. Sinclair, the divorce agreement you reque has been drafted. When would you like to review it? I can bring it to you.”

Gregory remained silent

Mr. Sinclair?” Edward asked again, but Gregory simply hung up

He pressed his fingers to the corner of his eye as he looked in the direction Anathea had left, pressing his lips together

He had to admit that even though he didn’t love Anathea, there was something alluring about her soft body lying beneath him, completely at his mercy

Five years. He’d possessed her for five years. He’d assumed The would’ve grown tired of her by now. But for some reason, he found himself wanting more

Gregory frowned, displeased with himself for even having these thoughts about her. After all, Anathea was the person he despised most. He should have cut things off and gotten rid of her long ago

However, when Edward had asked him about the divorce agreement just now, he’d actually hesitated

His expression darkened further. Just then, a figure appeared in front of him. Gregory looked up, meeting the other person’s

eyes

After a brief pause, he gave a slight nod. Hello, Mrs. Jacobson.”

He’d never acknowledged his marriage to Anathea, so naturally, he wouldn’t call Fiona his motherinlaw

But Fiona didn’t care about that. She had far more important things to care about

Mr. Sinclair, what a coincidence to run into you here,Fiona said with a smile, but there was a chill in her eyes

She looked toward the slightly open door to Natalie’s ward. Inside, Kander and Natalie were laughing and playing together

Just a few minutes ago, Fiona had seer it with her own eyes how Anathea had taltered and her straight back had hunched when she’d heard the voices coming from the room. Now, as she looked at Natalie, Fiona instantly understood everything

Mr. Sinclair, Tneed to speak with you.Fiona’s gaze locked onto Cregory, her tone laced with

anger

Gregory didn’t know why Fiona had suddenly sought him out, but he still nodded and followed her into the ward

The maident they sat down, Fiona pot straight to the point, looking him in the eye. Your Inther’s at least a faithful mart, You, on the other hand, don’t measure up.”
