“Oh no…” Edward hurriedly picked up the scattered documents.

Unable to remember their original order, he simply stacked them really and placed them all back on the desk in a rush, as if pailty of some wrongdoing. Then, he left without a second glaner.
Buried beneath the layers of documents, a corner of the divorce agreement preked out, with Anathea’s signature clearly visible.
Gregory stepped on the gas and sped back to Sinclair Villa
“Mr. Sinclair, you’re home early today,” Cyrus inunediately greeted him with a polite sinile.
Gregory gave a slight nod as he handed Cyrus his coat. “Is she home?”
Knowing Gregory was referring to Anathea, Cyrus nodded. “Mrs. Sinclair came home quite early today, but…” He hesitated briefly before deciding to be honest. “She wasn’t feeling well and fainted in the living room.”
Gregory’s brows furrowed. “Fainted? She’s sick?”
“Yes, but don’t worry. The doctor has already
Before Cyrus could finish his sentence, Gregory had strode off toward the staircase and headed straight to the third floor.
After taking the fever–reducing medicine prescribed by the family doctor, Anathea felt much better. But her body was still weak.
“Mom” Xander stood nearby, looking at Anathea with concern. He wanted to go closer but hesitated. This was all his fault. If he hadn’t grabbed her, maybe she wouldn’t have fallen and passed out.
Guilt weighed on him. He’d never meant to hurt her. He just wanted her to pay attention to him. At some point, he’d started feeling like his mother wasn’t as close to him as before. So, he’d kept trying different ways–acting out, seeking attention–but somehow, everything always seemed to go wrong
This time, he lowered his head and sincerely apologized, “Mom, I’m really sorry.”
Hearing that, Anathea smiled faintly. “It’s okay.”
She’d already felt dizzy before climbing the stairs. She’d been leaning against the handrail to steady herself, but the overwhelming dizziness had still taken over. Her vision had blacked out, and she’d collapsed.
It really wasn’t Xander’s fault. There was no reason to blame a child. Besides, she didn’t care anymore. Whether he apologized or not didn’t matter to her.
Xander had no idea what Anathea was thinking. He just assumed that she’d forgiven him. His previously downcast expression brightened a little. “Mom, are you hungry? Should I ask Toan to make you something delicious?
Anathea suddenly realized that she hadn’t eaten anything, since noon, so she nodded.
But before Xander could act, Thomas walked in with a bowl of nourishing soup.
“Whoa! Tom, do you have super hearing or something?” Xander looked at him in amazement.
Thomas chuckled sheepishly. “I figured Mrs. Sinclair would be hungry after waking up.”
Xander blinked and eagerly volunteered, “But that’s not enough! go find something yummy for Mom!” With that, he dashed
out of the room.
Anathea sighed helplessly. She was fine with just having something light. Reaching out her hand, she said, “Give me the food.”
Thomas handed her the bowl. De careful. It’s hot.”

Anathea’s grip was still weak. The bowl tilted, and some of the soup spilled unto Thomas‘ hand. He sucked in a sharp breath.
“Are you okay?” Anathea asked with concem
“yeah, it’s just a little burn.” Thomas reassured her with a smile. Then, as if scalding her lightly, he added, “But you really shouldn’t rush to hold the bowl yourself, Mrs. Sinclair.”
“Sorry.” Anathe a pressed her lips together as she looked at the recess on his hard. “Why don’t you just set it on the table? I can take my time with it-
Before she could finish, Thomas scooped up a spoonful of the soup and held it to her lips.
Anathea froze. Was Thomas feeding her?
