Chapter 87
‘m not pregnant, Anathea sald calmly.
“Are you a doctor? How are you so certain?” Gregory clearly didn’belleve bet. He would only trust the truth written in black and white. In other words, a test result.
To be more precise, he didn’t trust her.
Anathea didn’t answer his questions, instead retorting, “I really were pregnant, what would you do?”
Gregory fell silent.
After all, having another baby was not within his plans, especially since he already had an heir.
Besides that…
Gregory glanced at Anathea, noting how thin and frail she was. She looked like she would break with the slightest gust of wind. Her face was sickly pale, and even her lips were almost colorless.
Gregory’s thin lips pursed into a line.
When Anathea received no response from him, she scoffed in her mind.
They were about to divorce, so it was only natural he wouldn’t wish she were pregnant, worried she would use the child to continue tying them together.
Besides, he and Natalie were clearly in love with each other. Even if he wanted another child, he should be having it with Natalie.
As for Anathea, she didn’t want to have another child with him either.
“Relax, I’m really not pregnant.” Anathea sighed, feeling rather fortunate. “My period just came this afternoon.”
Earlier today, when she was chatting with Brisa and the others, she had felt a gush of warmth between her legs. After rushing to the bathroom, she realized her period, which had been late for three days now, had finally come.
In that instant, Anathea had only felt sheer relief, as though a significant burden had been lifted from her shoulders.
Thankfully, she wasn’t pregnant
Otherwise, she wouldn’t have known what to do. She would have had to worry about her mother’s surgery while finding the time to get an abortion.
Gregory noticed the flash of relief in her eyes, his expression darkening in response. His hand abruptly darted forward to seize her wrist.
Caught off guard, Anathea fell into the man’s embrace at a sudden yank from him. Immediately, a faint hint of alcohol mixed with his unique cedar scent drifted into her nose.
“What are you doing?” She frowned and tried to get out of his embrace, but Gregory used one hand to grip both of hers tightly before brazenly slipping the other hand under her skirt.
“Gregory!” Anathea shrieked in a panic. She clamped her legs together tightly, but Gregory easily pushed them apart.
In an instant, Anathea’s body went tense, even trembling faintly due to her humiliation and fury.
However, the moment Gregory felt the thickness of the pad in her underwear, he stopped and removed his hand. His face was expressionless as he said, “Don’t forget, you lied to me once befor already.”
Previously, to avoid engaging in sex with him, she had lied about her period coming, but she was exposed on the spot.
This time, Gregory had used the same method to test her lie.

Nevertheless, Anathea hadn’t been lying this time.
As Gregory released Anathea, she immediately pressed herself against the car door furthest from him, trying to put as much distance between them as possible. There was a wary look on her face.
Observing her cautious demeanor, Gregory scoffed and said, “Do you think I’m the sort of man who’s into bloodplay?”
Though Anathea didn’t reply, the look she shot him indicated that the indeed thought he was.
After all, the way he forced himself on her despite her refusal only showed how he was no different from an animal!
As though he could read her thoughts from her expressions alone, Gregory gritted his teeth as an inexplicable wave of fury surged through him. He jabbed the button to turn the glass partition from opaque to transparent before ordering coldly, “Stop the car!”
Martin hurriedly stopped the car and asked carefully, “Mr. Sinclair, is something the matter?”
However, Gregory simply turned to Anathea and said, “You, get off
She wanted to keep her distance from him, didn’t she? Then he would grant her wish!
For a moment, Anathea was stunned, but a few seconds later, she didn’t hesitate and quickly opened the door to exit the car.
She would rather walk than sit in the same car with a man as moody as Gregory!
car was clearly decorated with Natalie in mind, so there was no way she wanted to be in it!
Besides, that car
There was one problem, though.
She was still close to half an hour away from the Sinclair residence.
Thinking about ordering a taxi, Anathea dug for her phone, only to discover she had left it in Gregory’s car.
She really couldn’t catch a break, could she?
Letting out a self–deprecating laugh, Anathea tilted her head to stage at the brilliant lights of the city as she forced her tears back. Then, she started to walk.
