Chapter 9
After giving birth to Mia, Mrs. Anderson developed postpartum depression due to uterine damage that left her unable to have more children. Mr. Anderson resented Mia for this and abandoned her at
her grandmother’s house in the countryside without a second thought.
Grandmother Anderson was no saint either. Once she learned that Mia was the reason the Anderson line couldn’t continue, she even threw Mia into an ancient tomb, hoping venomous snakes would bite her to death!
If not for Mia’s strong will to survive–killing a snake and pushing away the tomb’s stone to escape–she would have been dead long ago.
She had thought returning to the Anderson family would mean a better life, but instead, they had brought her back just to set her up!
After regaining his composure, Jackson coldly called Vanessa.
I’ve moved the wedding up. Tomorrow at seven in the morning. Meet me at the castle.”
Vanessa didn’t understand what was happening, but she still flew overnight with her parents to the
venue.
The next day, she woke up early, put on her million–dollar wedding dress, applied beautiful makeup,
and waited excitedly for Jackson to arrive.
However, what greeted her instead were reporters bursting through the doors with cameras rolling
for a live broadcast, each holding a copy of “The Anderson Family History.”
“Miss Anderson, this story about your sister stealing your man–you and your parents carefully orchestrated it, didn’t you?”
“Miss Anderson, did you design this elaborate charade just so you could run away with your lover
overseas for wild nights of group sex?”
“Miss Anderson…”
One question after another struck Vanessa, her previously shy face turning from pale to flushed. Finally, unable to bear the interrogation, she screamed and ran outside, clutching her wedding dress.

Chapter 9
In the chaos, her dress tore all the way up to her thigh.
What was meant to be a meticulously planned wedding of the century had become nothing but dinner table gossip for the masses.
After reading the online reports, I closed my phone with a sigh.
I had thought that after I left, Vanessa would smoothly marry Jackson, and their lives would return to normal, filled with love and happiness.
I never imagined it would end like this.
Suddenly, a weight fell on my shoulders–Liam had draped a shawl over me.
“It’s getting cold. You’ll catch a chill.”
I looked down at the shawl wrapped around my feet and couldn’t help but laugh.
“Liam, what’s that smell? Why is it so sour with jealousy?”
Liam’s ears turned red as he leaned in and playfully bit my cheek.
up from her nap on the lounge chair and drowsily reached out toward Liam.
addy Liam, carry me.”
I turned to watch as Liam gently lifted Lily into his arms, suddenly feeling emotional.
When I first met Liam, I never imagined Lily would become so attached to him.
After leaving the country with Lily, the first place we visited was the ocean.
Lily had never gone on trips before. Jackson didn’t like her, so naturally, he never took the time to take her anywhere.
And as for me, the Andersons wouldn’t allow me to wander around freely.
Before Vanessa returned, they feared I’d run off and spill the truth. After Vanessa came back, they worried I might hide away with my child and refuse the divorce.
So whenever Lily saw Vanessa’s social media posts in the past, her most common word was, “Daddy and them went to the beach again. Mommy, I want to go too.”
