Chapter 9
Tobias’s roar echoed through the room as he stormed in, his fists crashing into the men with reckless fury.
The men cried out in pain and crumpled to the floor, but Tobias’s anger was far from satisfied He dragged them up again, each punch more violent than the last, his fury unrelenting.
When the men were finally dealt with, Tobias turned toward Tessa. Without a word, he raised his hand and slapped her hard across the face.
“If you ever touch her again, I swear I won’t let you off.”
Tessa, stunned by the slap, stood frozen, her mind racing. When she regained her senses, her anger exploded.
“Tobias, you actually hit me over a woman who humiliated you for three years?!”
But Tobias didn’t acknowledge her. His attention was completely consumed by Savannah.
Seeing her clothes torn and disheveled, he felt like a sharp knife had pierced his heart, the pain
unbearable.
Without wasting another second, he lifted Savannah into his arms and rushed out of the room, shouting for a doctor while desperately trying to comfort her.
Before her consciousness slipped away completely, the last thing Savannah saw was Tobias’s eyes, filled with worry and unease, his concern for her radiating in every glance.
For a moment, Savannah wondered if she was imagining things. Her mind was spinning; how could he be the one looking the most anxious when he was the cause of this mess?

When she slowly regained consciousness, she vaguely heard voices buzzing around her.
“Tobias, we heard you hit Tessa for Savannah. What’s going on?”
At the mention of her name, Savannah’s fingers twitched, but she stayed still, pretending to sleep.
Tobias drew in a deep breath, his voice thick with complex emotions. “I don’t want to marry Tessa anymore.”
“What?!”
The shock rippled through the room. “You’re not doing this because of Savannah, are you? There are only two days left until your wedding, Tobias. Don’t get confused now!”
“Yeah, Tobias. Don’t forget, during those three years, people said you were being kept. After Savannah went bankrupt, they mocked you even more. It was Tessa who stood by you.”
Those words hit Tobias like a blow and his face darkened instantly. In a flash, he slammed the glass in his hand onto the floor. The glass shattered, its pieces scattering and his temple throbbed with rage.
“Enough! Don’t bring up those things again! I’ve already compensated Tessa enough over the years.”
Seeing Tobias’s wrath, someone quickly came up with an idea.

“Tobias, there’s only one last step to complete your hundred times revenge plan. How about this? Pretend you’ve lost your memory, so propose to Savannah. You can say everything that happened before was when you were unconscious and now that your memory’s back, you’ve realized she’s the one. She loves you so much, she’ll definitely say yes. Then, when she’s all dressed up in her wedding gown, full of hope, she’ll find out it’s actually your wedding to Tessa. Just thinking about the look on her face makes it all worth it!”
“I can already picture her expression. It’ll be glorious!”
No.
Tobias pressed his lips together. For the past few days, he’d been grappling with a bold thought.
He didn’t want revenge anymore. He wanted to marry Savannah.
But hearing the final revenge plan laid out before him, even though refusal was right there on the tip of his tongue, he said nothing.
Finally, after a long moment of silence, Tobias made a decision. He spoke just one word.
“Okay.”
In that instant, all he could think of was that if Savannah agreed to marry him, he would put an end to this charade. He’d propose for real at the wedding and marry her properly.
Meanwhile, Savannah, who had heard it all, silently turned her face to the side. Her eyes, drained and dry, could no longer summon even a single tear.
