Chapter 15
The ten–minute video felt as heavy as a thousand pounds. The room fell into dead silence and all eyes slowly turned to Tobias.
He didn’t move, as if his soul had been ripped from his body. He stood frozen in place, staring blankly at the darkened screen.
No. Impossible.
She hadn’t left after everything. Why would she refuse him now, at the very end?
He had already decided to be with her, yet she chose to walk away.
His lips trembled slightly, but no words came out.
The hall, packed with guests, was so quiet that only shallow breaths could be heard.
Then, Tessa suddenly burst into laughter.
“Tobias, you deserve this.”
“You hurt Savannah over and over again for your pride; what did you expect? And now that she’s truly gone, you can’t take it? I’ve never seen anyone more pathetic than you.”
“Tessa, have you said enough?!”
The fury Tobias had been suppressing exploded.
His eyes turned blood–red as he lunged forward, grabbing Tessa’s throat with a vicious grip.
All trace of reason had slipped away, replaced with pure, seething rage.
“Seeing all this unfold makes you happy, doesn’t it? Let me clarify: even without Savannah, I would never have married you!”
Tessa hadn’t expected such a violent outburst. Panic surged through her as she gasped for air, eyes wide with terror. She clawed at his hands, struggling to break free, but Tobias’s grip only tightened, his gaze ablaze with fury.
Just as Tessa thought she might truly lose consciousness, the guests finally snapped out of their shock and rushed forward to tear Tobias away from her.
‘Tobias, calm down! Maybe that video was faked! Rafael could be behind this; you know what he’s capable of!”
‘Yeah! Maybe Savannah just overslept or something. She loves you! Why would she leave without a word? Go check her place; she might still be in bed!”
Their frantic voices pulled Tobias out of his blinding rage. He suddenly released her, shoving Tessa aside. She hit the ground with a heavy thud.
Yes. Rafael had always been cunning; who knew what kind of scheme he had set in motion?
Maybe this was all just a lie.
Without another word, Tobias spun on his heel and bolted out of the hall, racing toward Savannah’s home like a man chasing his last hope.
Behind him, Tessa lay on the floor, clutching her chest as she gasped for air. But her gaze, locked on his fading silhouette, was no longer filled with pain, only seething hatred.

Tobias floored the gas pedal, the engine roaring beneath him as he cut a one–hour drive down to just thirty minutes.
When he finally arrived downstairs, he leaped from the car and bolted upstairs, his nerves stretched so tight they felt ready to snap.
His hands trembled as he unlocked the door and the moment it creaked open, the blow hit him like a knife to the chest.
The apartment was empty. Everything, every trace of her, was gone.
Tobias’s eyes instantly reddened. He stormed inside like a madman, tearing through drawers, yanking open closets, searching for anything, anything that could prove she was still there.
But there was nothing.
In just a moment, Tobias seemed to have all his strength drained away.
He staggered back two steps and collapsed onto the floor.
No matter how much he refused to believe it, the truth was right in front of him.
Savannah Rossi had really left.
In the dim light, his mind spiraled. It felt as if an iron hand clutched his heart, squeezing until he
couldn’t breathe.
He could no longer suppress it. He slammed his fists into the floor over and over, knuckles splitting open, blood smearing the tiles, yet the pain couldn’t drown out the storm inside him.
After what felt like an eternity, something clicked in his mind. Gasping for breath, Tobias pulled out his phone with trembling fingers and dialed his assistant.
When he finally spoke, his voice was nothing more than a hoarse whisper.
‘Book me the next flight to Ardell. The earliest one you can find.”
