Chapter 29
Before he could find Savannah, Tobias restrained the impulse to immediately hit Rafael, clenching his molars and roaring in anger,
“Rafael, you played me?!”
Rafael remained unmoved, lazily lifting his eyelids.
“How is it playing you? Do I need to get your approval to arrange my wedding?”
His features were naturally aloof and his lazy tone added an extra layer of provocation as if he didn’t take him seriously at all.
Tobías became even angrier and questioned sharply, “What’s your real purpose in marrying Savannah? If it’s simply to bring down my company, I can give it to you!”
Normally, Rafael always smiled, giving off a friendly and warm feeling.
But today, there wasn’t a trace of a smile on his face. His voice was like ice.
“Do you think everyone is like you, willing to abandon the person by your side for money?”
Tobias’s eyes widened in fury.
“Rafael, what do you mean?!”
Rafael lowered his gaze. “Exactly what it sounds like.”
“If you insist on an answer, my purpose is very simple, I want to marry Savannah. I liked Savannah long before you did. Fortunately, I knew my own heart, unlike you.”
“As for your company, no need for me to destroy it, it will collapse on its own.”
As these words fell, Tobias’s whole body jolted. Although Rafael always appeared laid–back, he would never speak carelessly about something he wasn’t certain of. If he said something like that, something must have happened.
Tobias’s face darkened.
“Rafael, what did you do?”
Rafael finally smiled.
“It’s not about what I did. You should ask yourself what you did.”
Just as he finished speaking, two officers in uniform walked out from the back of the hall.
“Mr. Duncan, someone reported you for the murder of Miss Davis. Based on surveillance footage. at her residence, the evidence appears substantial. Please come with us.”
Hearing this, Tobias’s expression changed dramatically and he glared at Rafael with hatred.
“You had people following me?!”
He had only just left Tessa’s house. For the police to appear so quickly, Rafael had to be behind
- it.
Rafael shrugged without denying anything.
“Knowing your opponent is essential. You, of all people, should know what I’m capable of.”
Tobias clenched his teeth. Of course, he knew. But over the past few days, rage had blinded him. and he failed to notice he was being watched.

Still, he hadn’t seen Savannah yet. He couldn’t just go with them.
Seeing him unmoving, the officers started to approach.
Suddenly, Tobias turned and bolted toward the door.
Everyone chased after him, but he was too fast.
Just as he made it outside, a car came speeding toward him.
He didn’t have time to dodge.
With the violent impact, Tobias’s feet lifted off the ground, his entire body flung backward like a kite with a broken string. The back of his head slammed hard onto the concrete.
Blood quickly spread across the pavement, a sight both shocking and horrifying.
His body convulsed in pain, instinctively trying to curl up, but all strength had drained from him.
After a short struggle, his arms dropped limply to the ground.
Within seconds, Tobias lost all signs of life.
The wedding livestream was still rolling and every moment of this shocking scene had been
broadcast in real–time.
The crowd fell silent, unable to process what they had just witnessed.
No one had expected such a farce to end like this.
Even Rafael’s brow twitched slightly, at a loss for words.
