Chapter 121
Chapter 121
Theo’s eyes flickered for a second. “No one.”
Gregory had never cared about this kind of thing, so why was he suddenly bringing it up?
“Is that so?” Gregory let out a cold laugh and tossed a handkerchief straight at Theo’s face.
He didn’t use that much force, but it landed with enough weight that it felt like a slap.

“What the hell?” Theo looked at Gregory in disbelief. But when he saw the handkerchief he’d given Anathea, he froze.
For a moment, the air between them went dead silent.
Theo exhaled and gave up trying to hide it. “Yeah, I gave it to Anathea. But it’s not what you think–I just wrecked her old one by accident and wanted to make up for it.”
“Well, you sure are generous for dropping hundreds of thousands on a bag like that, Mr. Harrington.” Gregory’s voice dripped with sarcasm. “And she actually accepted it. You really think she’s worth that?”
Theo frowned. “Oh, come on, Gregory. Don’t get all weird and passive–aggressive. She’s your wife. What’s wrong with her having something nice?”
“Oh, you’re sticking up for her now?” It sounded like a question, but Gregory’s tone left no room for doubt. His gaze darkened. ” Don’t forget what you said to me back then,” he uttered through gritted teeth, his voice laced with anger.
Theo had said Gregory and Anathea weren’t right for each other, that she was a good–for–nothing. He’d told Gregory that he should cut his losses and divorce her–in fact, the sooner the better.
“So what’s this supposed to be?”
Gregory’s stare was sharp and full of suspicion. For once, Theo–who always acted as if he had nothing to hide–actually looked a little guilty.
And rightfully so. He used to badmouth Anathea constantly, always painting Natalie as the better choice. He’d practically begged Gregory to dump Anathea. But deep down, it hadn’t just been a logical judgment—he’d hated Anathea so much he wanted her to
suffer.
It was the only way he felt as though the whole world made sense.
But when he’d seen her standing alone in the rain, quiet but unshaken, he felt as if someone had punched him in the chest.
He couldn’t believe it, but some strange mix of sympathy and even admiration had crept in. He had no idea when it had started.
When Gregory had humiliated her in front of everyone, his first reaction wasn’t satisfaction–it was an urge to step in and defend her.
Was he starting to… fall for Anathea?
Theo blinked, stunned by the thought.
No. No way!
“Say something!” Gregory’s voice was low but sharp, full of restrained anger.
“I…” Theo didn’t even know where to begin.
“That’s enough, you two. Do you really need to be yelling like this in the middle of the night?” someone suddenly asked. Adrian rolled up in his wheelchair–pushed by a driver–right between the two of them.
He glanced at the Bugatti and the Koenigsegg parked side by side and gave a low whistle. “I almost forgot I’ve got a Pagani gathering dust in my garage. If I still could drive, you guys wouldn’t even be a match for me.”

Adrian laughed. “Come on, I was just kidding. You two seriously need to chill. Why are your out here racing at this hour? Also, “why didn’t you give me a heads–up? What, did you both decide a guy in a wheelchair isn’t even worth bringing along as a spectator?”
“Of course not!” Theo rushed to explain, quickly pointing at Gregory. “He’s the one who called me out here.”
“Oh, really?” Adrian turned to Gregory, raising an eyebrow like a jealous friend. “So, you invited him, but not me?”
Gregory coughed awkwardly. “It’s not like that.”
