Being nearly mateless and really more like single, her wolf instincts flared when Keshton touched her. She forgot he was a rogue Alpha, a type she despised above all others. Zara, being an animal, was affected by the provocative touch and scent of a male wolf, particularly Keshton, stirring forbidden cravings that she had managed to bury deep inside. “But now that’s enough,” Sibyl mumbled to herself as she stepped off the elevator and headed towards her old apartment.
If Keshton didn’t entertain himself with women and unnecessary feelings, she was no different. She had no desire to spend the rest of her life with a man. The day she left the Lunar Moon Pack, she knew she had to stay away from love and men forever.
It was time to rid herself of any unnecessary emotions or thoughts about Keshton. She would move on with her life after completely repaying her debt then enjoy the rest of her days without any romantic entanglements. She would never see Keshton again and would forget about him, focusing instead on taking care of Abraham until he came of age.
When she was only 50 meters from her apartment, the familiar sound of a child crying caught Sibyl’s attention, “Abraham!”
She sprinted to her apartment calling Abraham’s name, but the door was locked from the outside. Sibyl’s hatred for Nina grew, enraged that she would lock a small child alone inside. Abraham sounded absolutely terrified, intensifying Sibyl’s distress.
“Abraham, auntie is here. I will get you out of there. Don’t worry, baby,” she called out loudly, frantically trying to break the door open. Zara, her wolf, tried to take over, but Sibyl had to hold her back, knowing that any slip in the human territory could attract danger.
Desperate and out of ideas as Abraham’s cries grew louder, Sibyl rummaged through her pockets and found a key. It was from when she owned the apartment. She glanced between the key and the keyhole, knowing the new owner would have likely changed the locks. Biting her lip, she decided to try her luck in this dire situation, and to her surprise, the door opened with her old key!
“He didn’t have the apartment’s locks changed?” she muttered, momentarily surprised. Her thoughts were quickly interrupted by Abraham’s continued cries, snapping her back to the urgency of the situation.
Opening the door with a bang, Sibyl rushed into the dimly lit living room, only to freeze at the sight of an unexpected figure sitting on the sofa.
“Sibyl, you’re here,” Nina smiled.
“What are you doing here?” Sibyl’s eyes darkened with rage. The buried anger and desire for revenge surged within her, but first she looked around for Abraham, who was missing. “Where is Abraham?” she demanded. Strangely, only his cries were audible.
“Here,” Nina said, showing her phone screen, which was playing an audio recording of Abraham crying.
Sibyl’s eyes widened. “Did you trick me?”
“Of course,” Nina smirked, standing up with the air of a queen.
Sibyl’s claws extended as she glared at Nina with red eyes. “Why?” she asked softly, ready to rip Nina’s fox–like face off at any moment.
“For this,” Nina grinned, showing off a bag full of money. Then she looked passed Sibyl at the door. “Here is your soulmate, Alpha,” Nina announced.
Sibyl felt as if lightning had struck her soul. Not just due to the fact that Nina had called the person entering the house her soulmate, but because a familiar scent and aura filled the room. A presence that was none other than…. Edwin.
“Like I promised, I helped you get her,” Nina chirped as Edwin walked over and stood right in front of Sibyl
“Get out and don’t show your face again,” Edwin’s voice filled Sibyl’s ears, rooting her in place. He was real. He was actually there standing in front of her. He was not part of her imagination.

“Of course. My work is done, I’m leaving the country with my child,” Nina remarked, flashing a victorious smile at Sibyl, whose face had lost all color. Sibyl realized with a sinking heart that Edwin had used Nina to hunt her down. All her efforts to leave the city, block Edwin’s number, and prevent him from finding her had been in vain.
Nina shut the apartment door behind her, trapping Sibyl alone with Edwin, who eyed her like a predator.
“Sibyl, I finally found you,” Edwin said as he gently reached out to touch her cheek.
“Don’t touch me!” Sibyl growled, shoving his hand away.
“Sibyl, why would you say that?” Edwin’s smile faded, replaced by a look of sadness and hurt. “You even ran away, leaving me all alone. Why did you do this to me? Do you have any idea what it’s been like for me to live without you?” He grabbed her arm, looking deep into her eyes.
“Don’t you understand why I left you?” Sibyl raised an eyebrow, her eyes filled with disgust behind her glasses. “Don’t act like you’re innocent in all of this. It’s so ugly!” she growled, pulling away and turning to leave.
Edwin panicked and hugged her from behind, “Sibyl, don’t go. Listen to me!”
“What the hell are you doing, Edwin?!” Sibyl shrieked as his wolf tried to make a connection with Zara while Edwin held her as if they were still lovers. His actions made it seem as if he had never betrayed or cheated on her. This made Sibyl sick since she had broken the bond from her side. “Let go! Let me go! Why are you doing this to me!” she screamed, struggling in his arms.
Edwin spun her around and pinned her against the nearby wall. “I want you back, Sibyl,” he said, touching her cheek, ignoring the shock in her eyes. “Let’s go back home. I’m here to bring you back,” with that, he leaned down and kissed her.
When their lips touched, Sibyl was paralyzed, but the memory of Keshton’s kiss–the mingling of their hot breaths, the soft dampness of their lips, the heat rising between them–flashed in her mind. The memory jolted her, helping her to move her limbs. She could finally breathe and realized exactly what Edwin was doing to her.
In the next second, she raised her hands and shoved Edwin away with all her strength. “How dare you kiss me?” she screamed, wiping her lips in disgust. Edwin, shocked by her reaction, tried to speak, but Sibyl cut him off.
“I will kill you if you dare lay a hand on me again, Edwin. And don’t even contemplate the idea of me returning with you. I am never going to willingly stay in a place where you have a mistress.”
“Sibyl, Daisy is only there to bear my child!” Edwin raised his voice. “Why can’t you understand that what I am doing is for both of us. I only love you but to remain in my Alpha position I need Daisy and her womb. Can’t you be flexible for our love and matebond?”
“Flexible?” Sibyl chuckled in disbelief. “I never knew your definition of flexibility was so disgusting, Edwin. It is actually just a way for you to gain permission to openly cheat, that is something I won’t accept. The moment I saw you with her, you lost me,” she stepped closer to Edwin until they were just inches apart. “The first time you touched another woman you became filthy to me. I don’t want you in my life anymore. I am not going back to a betrayer, Edwin,” she said, poking his chest with her finger, her eyes full of hate. “Now enjoy your new wife and sate your greed for a child. As for me, I am never picking up the trash that I rejected,” she declared, taking a step back then turning to leave without looking back.
She just wanted to get away from Edwin as soon as possible knowing how insane he could act but then she realized that the door was locked from the outside. She tried to open it unsuccessfully multiple times but failed.
“Open the door!” she became angry only to find Edwin standing right behind her.
“I may be greedy for a child but you are no different, Sibyl,” he suddenly touched her cheek and it was far from gentle.
“I am nothing like you!” she argued.
He smiled evilly, “You are, otherwise how would an intelligent woman like you fall for Nina’s trap? The moment you learned about Abraham you came here running without thinking about anything else. Abraham is the child that you have always craved. A child that you could never bear. So, you wanted to have him all to yourself. You are as greedy as me for a child, Sibyl.”
Sibyl’s mind went blank with the accusation. Deep in her heart she really was greedy for a child. Whenever there was a new child born into the pack, she would run to meet it and take it in her arms. The reason why she had helped her good for nothing brother had only ever been for Abraham. She had a desire to take that innocent child as hers one day.
“Both of our greeds have a thin line.” Sibyl spoke slowly and locked eyes with Edwin, “Your greed leads you to another woman’s vagina but my greed does not lure me to another man’s cock.”
She controlled her emotions as she turned to face the door only to be greeted by three tall men standing there. Sibyl looked at them in confusion only to feel Edwin’s hot breath against the back of her neck as he leaned down to her ear. “Then how about we remove that thin line, Sibyl?”

Her back hit Edwin’s chest and he wrapped his arms around her waist. “That’s true, you might not get knocked by doing just what I told you because in order to successfully get pregnant…” he paused, which increased Sibyl’s heartbeat as she started to feel something inside her body that she had not felt for over a month. “You need to go into heat,” he whispered.

Her wolf kicked and she knew she had to run but before she could Edwin threw her on the bed so violently that her top nearly tore. “Fuck her,” he ordered the three men that immediately pounced on Sibyl.
“NOOOO….” Sibyl screamed at the top of her lungs but she couldn’t fight three strong males. Two of them pinned her to the bed while the third one spread her legs.
A fat tear escaped from Sibyl’s eye when she saw her soulmate standing there watching her being destroyed by three men. Was this the promise of protection that he had made to her? Was this the love that he was willing to share with her with other men? Was it this mate bond that she once thought a blessing but now it only brought her pain?

Under the heavy rain, a group of hunters, armed with silver arrows and bullets, pursued a white wolf from the shadows. Jumping from one building to the next, to keep away from human eyes, they chased the wolf. Despite their efforts, the wolf managed to disappear into an alley with abnormal speed.
“FUCK!!” A man with a big beard and sharp features yelled in frustration, stopping at the crossroads where the wolf had last been seen. “THESE FUCKING WEREWOLVES ARE NOW DARING TO BREAK THE LAWS AND SHIFT IN OUR HUMAN TERRITORY! SEARCH EVERY CORNER AND KILL THAT BEAST!!”
His battle cry reached Sibyl walking in the dark deserted alley from the rain with the help of a wall. Due to abruptly shifting she was completely naked and her long hair was wet and down around her shoulders. She could hear the hunters running around in the area, she was completely trapped there.
After a couple of seconds, her feet could no longer support her and she fell on the ground. Her heat had completely broken her and she was not able to bear the pain anymore. She slowly dragged her body to the wall and leaned against it, hiding in the darkness of the alley. Her glasses had fallen off and broken in the apartment when she shifted along with her phone. Not that it mattered, she wondered who she could even call for help. Closing her eyes, she leaned her head against the wall as a tear slid from the corner of her eye, recalling Edwin’s words and what he had intended to do to her.
