Chapter 9
Time went by very quickly, and my stomach grew bigger and bigger. In the later stages of my pregnancy, Craig did many things himself instead of handing them over to someone else.
He would go out for a stroll with me every day and prepare surprises for me. “Blair, this is a necklace for you. How does it look?”
Craig reached out and took out the biggest pearl necklace in Esica, which he had bought at an auction. I looked at it and pretended to look glum. “Are those pearls?”
Craig’s hand tightened on the necklace, and he stuffed it into his pocket. “What do I’ll get them to send it over for you at the next auction.”

He combed my hair carefully, afraid that he would hurt me. I was about to answer when I suddenly received a new WhatsApp message.
It was a message from Ashton again: “Blair, how are you?”
I turned off my phone and tossed it aside. Ashton would send a few messages every few days
to harass me and tell me what he was doing. He always felt that the things he couldn’t have were the best things.
Once he had them, he would no longer cherish them. People like him weren’t worthy of receiving love at all!
The people who were monitoring Ashton and Jane would take close–up photos of them every day. Jane was getting bolder and bolder.
She looked haggard and tired, and there was a vicious look in her eyes. She no longer looked like the youthful young woman she had previously been.
She stole Ashton’s money to go to bars and nightclubs, and she even got infected with AIDS! However, she continued to immerse herself in her lifestyle. She did not care about her broken body at all.
As for me, I finally carried my pregnancy to term and had the babies at the hospital. As the doctor had said, I had a pair of fraternal twins.
“I love you, darling!”
Craig held one in each arm, unable to hide his smile. When the babies were a month old, Craig held a banquet at the best hotel to show off his newborn twins to everyone.
Meanwhile, Ashton had just gotten off work in Astonia. He took out his phone to send a message to Blair.
His phone was filled with messages and news about how Craig had just had a pair of twins.

When Ashton saw Craig in the photos beaming with the babies in his arms, he felt suffocated.
He was silent for a moment. How had things turned out this way?
All of that should have been his! The children should have been his! The Byrd fortune should also have belonged to him.
A piece of paper suddenly appeared in front of him. It was a medical report. He read the words on it and realized that it was a medical report about an AIDS diagnosis!
He looked behind him. Jane was smiling happily. “Ashton, even if you go back, you won’t be able to inherit the Byrd fortune anymore!”
She laughed delightedly. There was a strange look on her face as she stared intently at him.
“What’s this? How did this happen?”
Jane stood beside him and said in a low voice, “It’s AIDS, of course. You’ve got to get it, too, just like me!”
She lay down on the bed and immediately fell into a deep sleep. Ashton frantically tried to buy post–exposure prophylaxis drugs, but he had been infected with it for too long already.
The virus had already invaded his body. Craig soon heard the news about Ashton getting infected with AIDS, but at the time, we were preparing a new banquet for the twins.
“Let him sort himself out on his own.”
Craig’s brow was tightly furrowed. “He doesn’t need to come back, either. I’d rather not have a son like that.”
He picked up the two babies with a gentle expression on his face. “I’ll raise my son and daughter well! They’re not going to turn out like that ingrate!”
This time, I felt very relaxed as I smiled. It seemed that the result I had been aiming for was about to be achieved.
The news about Ashton would not disturb us at all. Craig had always been quite healthy, and he kept himself in good shape. Subsequently, we had triplet boys and twin girls.
Our home was finally lively and animated, and I watched them grow up happily.
The news came from Ashton. Ashton had been suffering greatly from the symptoms of AIDS, and when he found out that it was because Jane had been sleeping around, he strangled her.
Craig was sitting beside me, and he only nodded impassively. “It’s what he deserves.”
Craig no longer cared about what happened to Ashton. Soon enough, the time came when, in our past life, Craig had been murdered.

I kept stopping him from going out, and I only breathed a sigh of relief when the criminals were caught. After that, I began to live a good life.
