After Liam returned home, he completely
collapsed.
He drowned his sorrows in alcohol every day,
locking himself in his room, not seeing
anyone.
He also neglected the affairs of the company,
turning a blind eye to all kinds of documents
and meetings.
Once a leader in the business world, he was
now blind to the company’s declining
performance and the employees‘ wavering
morale.
Brittany watched Liam sink deeper and
deeper, both angry and anxious.
く
She tried to comfort Liam, preparing meals
for him every day, but each time, Liam coldly
pushed them away, and the meals were
knocked to the ground.
The room was filled with the foul
5mell of
rotting food and the pungent smell of alcohol,
which was unbearable.
One day, Brittany finally couldn’t bear it
anymore.
She walked into Liam’s room. The room was
dim and dark, the curtains were drawn tightly,
and only a faint ray of light came in through
the cracks, barely illuminating the bottles all
over the floor.
Brittany frowned, carefully stepping over the
bottles, walking to Liam’s side, saying loudly.
“Liam, how long are you going to be like this?
That Madison Campbell doesn’t belong to you
anymore. Why can’t you accept reality and
live a good life with me? Our life has to go
on!”
Liam raised his head, his eyes blurred, the
bloodshot eyes staring fiercely at Brittany, his
eyes full of disgust.
“It’s all because of you. If it weren’t for you,
Madison wouldn’t have left me. Get out of
here! I don’t want to see you again!”
Brittany was heartbroken by his words, her
eyes filled with tears, crying.
“Liam, I love you so much. I’m willing to do
anything for you. Why do you treat me like
this? I’m the one who’s always by your side!”
Liam was unmoved. He picked up a bottle
from the table and smashed it hard on the
ground, scattering glass shards.
“Love me? Is that what you call love? You
only bring me pain! If it weren’t for you, how
would Madison and I have ended up like this?
You’re a jinx!”
Brittany looked at the out–of–control Liam,
her heart full of fear and despair.
She turned to leave, but Liam grabbed her.
“You’re not allowed to leave. It’s all your fault.
You have to take responsibility for all this!
You can’t just leave me alone!”
Brittany struggled, crying.
“Liam, let go of me, you’re hurting me! Wake
up!”
Liam had lost his mind. He held Brittany
tightly, and in the struggle, Liam’s hand
accidentally strangled Brittany’s neck.
Brittany struggled desperately, using her
hands to pry Liam’s hands away, kicking her
feet wildly, trying to break free.
But Liam was like a madman, not letting go,
muttering.
“Why? Why did you take Madison away from
me…”
く
When Liam came to his senses, Brittany was
no longer breathing.
He released his hand in horror, looking at
Brittany’s body, collapsing to the ground.
His hands trembled non–stop, his eyes full of
fear and remorse, muttering to himself.
“I didn’t mean to, I didn’t mean to…”
In the end, Liam was arrested by the police
for manslaughter and sent to prison.
Once high–spirited, he had now completely
fallen, paying a heavy price for his actions.
And I, under the treatment of a hypnosis
master abroad, had regained my memories.
く
Naturally, I remembered everything that had
happened between me and Liam.
When I learned that Liam had been
imprisoned, I was lying on the beach,
sunbathing.
River was the one who told me about it.
“What? Worried?”
River looked at me.
I smiled faintly.
“He brought it on himself.”
I picked up the glass of red wine next to me
and touched his glass.
For the rest of my life, please take care of
me.
