Theodore raised a brow. “Relax. I just asked them to head to the resort hotel to rest”

Eliana had no interest in sharing the hot spring with a man who always misunderstood her. She snapped, “You can enjoy it yourself”
“Stay still.” Theodore’s gaze turned gloomy as he noticed the conspicuous absence of a ring on the delicate hand he was holding. “Where’s the wedding ring I put on your finger last night?”
Eliana deliberately shrugged with feigned indifference. “Who knows? Maybe it just fell off somewhere along the way.”
“You!” Theodore was so furious he could crush her. “Are you doing this just to piss me off?”
Eliana said, “You’re the one who’s been mistreating me all along. Since Alice’s accident, have you ever once been kind to me?”
“That’s because you keep running away,” Theodore retorted, treating her like a misbehaving child.
Eliana said bitterly, “What else could I do but run? Let you drag me to grovel before Alice and her poor dead child?”
Theodore pressed his lips into a thin line. “So you do know the kid was innocent.”
“What good does it do for me to know? The real problem is her mother doesn’t!” Eliana’s Alice is. She was even willing to sacrifice her own child just to frame me.”

Hearing this, Theodore’s grip on her wrist unconsciously loosened. He was still shaken up.
“Theodore, I saved your first love twice. The first time, you abandoned me to hold her. The second time, you pushed me aside for her. Do you really think that just because I don’t cry or make a scene, I don’t feel hurt?” Eliana questioned.
With that, she turned away and headed straight for the changing room.

After changing her clothes, Eliana went to the resort hotel to meet her girlfriends. She found them utterly captivated by a suave bad boy, and it was a good while before they finally noticed she had arrived.
“Ellie, you’re here,” Jennie said.
“Ellie, your husband’s even hotter in person,” Kylie chimed in.

As they were talking, Lucas sauntered over to her with effortless grace.

Seeing how quickly Lucas eased the frown from Eliana’s face, Theodore pulled her close by the waist. With a low “See you at dinner,” he steered her toward the presidential suite he had booked in advance.
“Are you jealous?” Lucas smirked, then suddenly called out to Eliana’s retreating figure, “Hey, Eliana. We’re having a grill party tonight. Lots of people are coming and it’ll be so much fun!”
Hearing this, Eliana instinctively wanted to reply, but Theodore let out a cold snort beside her, “Pathetic.”

Just as Theodore was about to usher Eliana into the room, she suddenly said, “Oh, I want to stay with my friends tonight.”
Theodore was about to protest, but before he could speak, she quickly added, “We were roommates all through high school, and they’re like my sisters. Surely you won’t forbid even this?”
Theodore fixed her with an intense gaze, his voice carrying a commanding edge. “Fine. But don’t even think about vanishing on me again tomorrow morning. You know I’ll find you no matter where you go.”
Later that night, Theodore was in the middle of a video conference with an important client from Lunara when he was suddenly interrupted by the
doorbell.
He wondered, ‘Could it be Ellie coming back to stay with me tonight?‘ Without hesitation, he ended the call and walked over to the door, but standing- outside was none other than Lucas, flashing his trademark roguish grin.
Theodore’s face fell, his disappointment obvious as he snapped, “What do you want?”
Lucas leaned casually against the doorframe, a bottle of premium red wine dangling from one hand and a roguish grin on his face. “Thought you might be lonely, so I came to keep you company. Aren’t you going to invite me in for a drink?”
Theodore said coldly, “Get lost.”
Lucas spun around with a smirk. “Alright then, I’ll just go have a drink with Eliana instead.”

Theodore frowned, then changed his mind and snapped, “Fine, get your ass in here”
Lucas clicked his tongue as he walked in, saving. “This isn’t like you at all. Alice used to complain in the WhatsApp group chat that your work was your

At these words, Theodore was momentarily taken aback.
Lucas didn’t understand. Before he lost his sight, he had been fearless and full of ambition. But after he went blind, everything slipped through his fingers like grains of sand–except for Eliana, who never let go of his hand.
“I’ve always wondered, after you lost your sight and started losing your temper so much, did Ellie ever reach her breaking point?” Lucas asked.
“Never,” Theodore replied firmly. “Eliana was always encouraging me to stay strong and never let anyone look down on me.”
“She’s really a gem, and so much better than Alice,” Lucas sighed.
Theodore didn’t say anything, but his eyes dimmed with thought. Coincidentally, Felix had said the same thing to him before, about how Eliana was a thousand times better than Alice.
Now, there was only one burning question in Theodore’s mind. ‘Did I really misunderstand Ellie for what happened on that cliff?”
