Meanwhile, in another presidential suite, Eliana was playing cards with her three close friends.
One girl asked, “Ellie, won’t your husband get mad that you’re staying with us tonight?”
Ebana played a card and replied, “Nah, I already talked to him about it.”
“That’s so weird,” another chimed in. “Why did you two come to the resort separately?”
At that, Eliana paused mid–motion and suddenly looked up. “Hypothetically, if your boyfriend accused you of cheating because of another woman, would you be mad?”
Without hesitation, all three answered, “Of course we’d be mad.”
“I wouldn’t just be mad–I’d dump him on the spot and tell him to go live with that woman forever.”
“That’s too easy on him. I’d smash a durian over his head, and maybe even cut off his dick.”
Eliana nodded thoughtfully before asking, “What if that man was Theodore?”
“Huh?” The three froze, then immediately clutched their faces, lost in fantasy.
“Your husband’s so hot–if it were me, I could never divorce him.”
“Right? Plus, he’s loaded and has an amazing body. Spending his money while enjoying his body? Perfect.”
“If Theodore cheated, it’d 100% be the other woman’s fault. I’d probably hire someone to ruin that homewrecker’s face.”
Eliana sighed at their answers and just kept playing cards.
The next day, as soon as Eliana and Theodore returned to Russell Manor, Lainey stormed up and pointed at her, shouting, “Eliana, give me back my grandson!”
Seeing Lainey about to strike, Theodore’s eyes turned icy. “Stop. Aren’t you ashamed of acting so disgracefully as an elder?”
Lainey was stunned. Anthony had told her over the phone that Theodore and Eliana were on bad terms, yet here he was, defending her.
But remembering Anthony’s instructions–that she had to be dramatic to seek justice for the dead child–she kept yelling, “It wasn’t your child who died, so of course you can stay calm. Your wife is a curse–she’s going to destroy the entire Russell family!”
Theodore asked coldly, “Who has she destroyed?”
“Alice and my poor grandson, obviously!” Lainey forced out two tears.
“Proof?” he demanded.
“She pushed Alice off a cliff–isn’t that proof enough?”
“Of course not. No one except Alice and Eliana saw what happened that day, and their stories contradict each other. Alice’s word isn’t automatically the
truth.”
Lainey gaped at him, then jabbed a finger at Eliana. “You actually believe her bullshit about Alice jumping on purpose? Why would Alice hurt herself and
her own child?”
Theodore said, “I told you the truth still needs investigating. But if you lay a finger on Ellie, you’ll regret it.”

Lainey stood frosen, shaken by his intimidating aura. It took her a moment to recover before she realized she had to call Anthony immediately
Back in their room, Eliana spoke up. “Thanks for saving me some face in front of others.”
Theodore stiffened slightly before replying stiffly, “Lainey’s always been bitter. Don’t take her words seriously.”
Eliana blinked, surprised. He thought, ‘Is he comforting me?‘
At Covenhill Hospital, Anthony’s expression darkened after hanging up
with Lainey.
Seeing this, Alice grew nervous. She dreaded when Anthony was upset–it always meant she was about to suffer.
As she expected, the next second, Anthony turned to her with a chilling smile. “Alice, do you know what Theodore told Mom after going back?”
Alice shook her head, watching him anxiously.
“Theodore said your fall is still under investigation. Do you realize what that means?”
Alice paled. “No way. He promised to help me before leaving the hospital.”
“Theodore’s completely under Eliana’s spell,” Anthony said grimly. “No matter how convincing our act is, he’ll still believe her.”
“But we sacrificed our child! To drive them apart, I jumped off that cliff and accidentally killed him–isn’t that enough?” The thought kept her awake at night.
Yet Anthony showed no grief, only cold calculation. “That’s why we need to return to Covenhill soon–to remind Theodore of your loss.”
Just then, a gift box rolled into the room. When Anthony and Alice looked toward the door, no one was there. Alice panicked. “Anthony, someone was
here!”
“Stay here.” His face darkened as he strode out.
He checked the elevator and then headed for the stairs. The VIP floor was eerily quiet–he could even hear hurried breathing nearby.
Soon, he caught up to the eavesdropper. Smiling gently, he called out, “Grandma.”
Margaret stiffened before turning to face him. “You’d stoop this low to frame Ellie? Are you even human?”
She’d come to deliver supplements for Alice, only to overhear everything. That poor child died because of his heartless parents. And poor Eliana, carrying such a heavy injustice–Margaret couldn’t bear imagining her pain.
The memory of Eliana dragging her suitcase away, helpless but determined, made Margaret’s heartache unbearably.
Anthony, however, just smiled, indifferent to their suffering. “Grandma, Grandpa always said, ‘Those who achieve great things don’t sweat the small stuff. I’d add-”
Margaret trembled. “What?”
“They should be willing to sacrifice even their beloved ones,” said Anthony with a sneer.
His gentle tone horrified her. “How did you become such a monster?”
“I’ve always been like this.” He glanced behind her, then added casually, “Since you’ve discovered our secret, why not share another?”
