Vicky POV
I returned home, feeling defeated and furious as hell towards Venus. She had thwarted all my plans to seduce Aaron. In the hospital, when he came to see me, I added the love potion to the cake he ate. However, the effect of the spell had dulled. And the reason was that Venius was giving him an antidote.
“Bitch!” I screamed, grabbing my hair in my hands. I wanted to kill her so badly, but she had already escaped an assassination attempt. If I went for it again, serious suspicions would be raised. The main problem was that Danny had gone underground after the attack. Alpha Martin had his warriors all over to look for the culprit. Every small criminal was rounded up. There were raids going on the premises of every wolf who had a minor criminal record. It was like Alpha Martin had made a mission of his life to nab the culprit. The minute I got married to Aaron, I was going to throw that bastard in the dungeons.
“Vicky?” Mom came into the room, opening the door. “What happened?” she asked, sitting at the edge of the bed. “Did you give the food basket to
Venus?”
“I did!” I said through gritted teeth. “But the scumbag is using an antidote for the witch’s spell!”
Mother gasped as she stared at me with disbelief. “How does she know we are feeding him with the potion?”
I shook my head. Sometimes, my mom talked like a retard. “She doesn’t know that we are giving him. But she came to know that the potion’s toxins were running in his blood after he showed the side effect. Aaron had headaches, and so the bitch started giving him antidote on doctor’s advice.”
“Damn it!” Mom spat. “The witch had said that he will show symptoms of headaches. That’s why I wanted you to hurry and marry him. Now look, what have you done?”
I snapped my eyes at her. I shouted, “What do you mean? Don’t you know how hard I pressed him to marry me? He was under my control all the while. When I first met with him, he had moon eyes for Venus, but slowly I got him under my control. I have tried everything to get him back since then, but nothing is working. So how is it my fault?”
“Ugghh!” Mom grumbled. “If Venus knows that there were toxins in his body, then she will surely get it investigated.” Nervous, she got up from her clasped her hands.
“Not only that,” I informed her. “Alpha Martin is hunting for the wolves who blew up the cabin. So we are in a tight spot. You have to do something before things close in on us.”
Mom clenched her fists. “I should have gotten the bitch killed long back! Only because of Patrick, I didn’t.”
“Mom, please do something,” I said, going to her. “I really love Aaron. At first, this was all a game, but now I have come to like him a lot. If he were married to me, he would be loyal to me. Just do anything to put Venus in his bad books.”
Mom took a deep breath. “Let me see,” she replied. “But why don’t you go for Nathan? Even he can be useful.”
I scrunched my nose up. “Nathan? I can’t stand that douche. He is destined to be Aaron’s Beta. His father is nowhere in the social standings as compared to Aaron and his family. Why will I go for him?” I removed a lint from my dress. “I can use him, but I’ll never choose him.”
Mom shook her head and walked out of the room. “I’ll see what I can do, Vicky. But until then, be patient. Don’t do anything.”
“Okay…” I muttered. But patience was the last thing on my mind. I was already conjuring up the ideas of how to create a misunderstanding between Aaron and Venus. One thing was sure. Aaron felt guilty for ignoring me even though he didn’t feel the mate bond that strongly. The potion that I had fed him was so strong that even if he didn’t have it for one week, there would be mild effects. The antidote was working fast, and I was sure that in no more than three days, all the effects would wear off.
I paced my room, anxiety filling me. What would happen if he marked Venus? I don’t know why he hadn’t marked her, but this was something I could leverage.
After an hour of fretting and stalking him and Venus on social media, I felt like everything I had built so carefully would crumble to dust. I had grown fond of Aaron without even realizing it, and Venus being near him was like a thorn in my eyes.

“Vicky!” Mom called me excitedly as she entered my room.
I dragged myself from my bed to a sitting position. “What?” I asked sullenly.

She sat in front of me and said, “I talked to the witch we had contacted last time. She will give me an eye drop. If you put that in your eyes, you can cast a spell on Aaron every time you see him.”
My mouth dropped. “That’s awesome!”
Mom giggled. “Yes, give me something that belongs to Aaron. She wants to use that in the love potion she would brew.”
I had plenty of things that belonged to him. Grinning, I walked to my wardrobe and took out his shirt I had never given him back after wearing it.
“Not this!” Mom grated. “Things like his hair, nails or saliva.”
I jerked my head back. “Where will I get that from?”
She shrugged. “You can get any of them.”
“I can get the saliva…” I muttered, remembering his half–eaten cake that I had brought back home. Striding to the kitchen, I opened the fridge and there it was. Grinning, I took it to mom. “Here,” I gave her. “Aaron had eaten it. His saliva is mixed in it.”
Mom laughed. “Great. She will give the potion in a few days.”
