Venus POV
Aaron broke his promise yet again. The pain of him cheating on me by hugging Vicky, brought so much pain that it punched the air out of my lungs. My wolf howled inside me, making it worse. How could he do this to me? I was getting so annoyed and fed up with this situation that I thought the best thing to do was to free him. At least, that way I would move on. Or would I?
I knew Vicky was vicious, but after Aaron came back to me, everything was going on beautifully. But now he was back with her. The way she clung to him like a koala made me want to puke.
I could barely look at Aaron now because he wasn’t the wolf I had fallen in love with. He had changed. A lot. I was going to ask for a divorce.
My phone buzzed. Wiping my tears, I took it. “Father?”
“Venus, Patrick is missing. Where are you?” Alpha Martin’s urgent voice came in.
Blood drained from my face. “What?” I couldn’t believe it. “How do you know?”
“Come fast!” he said. “Gaia informed me.”
When we arrived at Alpha’s manor, I saw Aaron and Eric already there. Gaia was crying, Vicky was nowhere and Alpha and Luna were talking to Beta Jacob. I rushed to them.
“What happened?” I asked in a hoarse voice, trying to stay calm, but failing. “Where’s dad?”
“We have sent our warriors to find him,” Alpha Martin said. “They’ll find him soon.”
“No!” I shouted. “I am going to find him!” I stormed towards one of the cars.
“Venus, please don’t go anywhere. It isn’t safe!” Aaron called me.
“It’s not safe?” I shouted. “My dad is missing and you are saying it’s not safe for me? You can’t stop me, Aaron!” I shouted. “You have lost all your chances to talk to me!” Saying that, I climbed in Nathan’s car and sat next to Ginger. Aaron also climbed in and sat in the passenger seat next. There was too much in my mind to process anything. Heartbreak and now dad was missing. I wanted to cry, howl, bawl, but I pursed my lips, blinking my tears away. This was not the time.
As we sped towards the forest where the warriors had sniffed my dad, Aaron remained silent. We stopped in a clearing after which the car couldn’t travel in. I got out, slamming the door behind me and walked inside.
“Venus!” Aaron shouted. “It’s not safe. Stay with Ginger in the car. I’ll shift and search for Patrick with Nathan and other warriors.”
But I didn’t hear him and made my way to the dense forest. Nathan, Ginger and Aaron followed me close. I sniffed my father’s scent and trailed it. It led us deeper in the forest. “Goddess!” I shrieked when we came across a large circle of burnt leaves and candles.
“What the hell is that?” Nathan said, his eyes widening as he stepped towards it.
I stopped him and shoved him back. “That’s a magic circle!” I warned him. Don’t you get inside it.”
“How dare a witch come here and cast magic?” Aaron growled as he stared at the circle.
Realizing that it was a witch’s magic circle and my father’s scent led me here, a violent shudder ran down my body. “Daddy!” I shouted, my voice echoing in the forest. “Daddy!” Where was he? Was he kidnapped by a witch? What the hell was happening to me, to my family? I sniffed the air again. My father’s smell was strong in the north. On instinct, I ran towards the north with everyone following me. Some warriors also joined us, which means that Aaron must have opened his mind link to tell them of our location.
We continued to run for another thirty minutes before I found my dad. Ecstatic, I yelped, as I approached him. He was sitting on a fallen log, staring blankly towards the sky, looking haggard. I shifted back, and sat down in front of him. “Daddy?”

Slowly, he turned his gaze at me and blinked. As if realization crashed inside him, he said, “Venus?”
“Daddy!” I threw myself at him. “What are you doing here?”
Daddy hugged me tightly. “I don’t know, chickee. How did I come here?”
“Oh daddy!” I hugged him again, letting my tears fall this time. “You are fine.” I didn’t have the heart to tell him that a spell was cast on him. But where was that witch? I was so angered by this situation now that I wanted to kill the witches who were creating havoc in our lives.
I brought daddy with me at Alpha’s manor. Gaia immediately demanded, “I will take Patrick with me.”
“No!” I retorted. “Daddy isn’t going anywhere. He will stay with me until he is fine.”
“Venus,” she shouted. “You’ve already stolen Vicky’s mate. And now you are stealing mine too?”
Anger exploded inside me, and my wolf snarled inside me to rip her into pieces.
“Enough!” Alpha Martin roared, silencing everyone. “Patrick will stay here until he heals. You all may leave!”
Gaia shot a hateful glare at me and stormed out. My shoulders sagged in relief and I turned my attention to daddy. With the help of the servants, I settled him in a guest room. Then I instructed everyone openly, “I don’t want anyone to meet my father. That includes Vicky and Gaia.” There were gasps of surprise, but I didn’t care anymore because I wanted to protect one man who loved me unconditionally. Aaron watched me silently all the time.
My phone buzzed again. “Father?” It was Alpha Martin.
“Queen Ketari is here. Come to the library. Oh, and get Aaron as well.”
As I marched to the library with Aaron, I called Eric and asked him to stay with dad.
Aaron caught my wrist and stopped me. “Venus, talk to me. I can’t-”
“I can’t either,” I stopped him. “Once I have finished speaking with Queen Ketari, there’s something important I’d like to discuss with you.”
His eyes flared with pain, but before I could give in to his pain which affected me deeply, I spun and hurried to the library.
Queen Ketari was nothing like a witch I had in mind.
