Chapter 50
Venus POV
“What are you doing here?” I asked Vicky, seeing her sitting so close to Aaron.
Vick scoffed, “Trying to help Aaron.” She got up and crossed her arms across her chest, still standing close to him. Then she glanced at Alpha Martin, and said, “Alpha Martin, Aaron just confessed to me that Venus wants to divorce him.”
Alpha Martin’s eyes bulged out. “What?” he asked with disbelief. He looked from me to Aaron and back to me. “Why Venus?” he asked.
His shock was apparent on his face. He staggered and grasped the back of a sofa as he stared at me for an explanation.
Blinking away my tears, I took a ragged breath in. “I” I said with a choked throat. “I can’t take it anymore,” I finally said. “He always runs to Vicky. It’s just not right for my mental health. And so I want to move on.”
“Don’t say like that,” Luna Marie walked to stand beside me. She clutched my hand. “Please Venus, we know it is hard, but Aaron needs you.”
“Excuse me!” Vicky interrupted. “I am his mate. Aaron needs me, not Venus. You got him married to Venus out of spite, despite knowing that both Aaron and I share the sacred moon goddess bond. Now see the repercussions of it. You have managed to make all of us miserable in this relationship. Aaron clearly can’t get over me, and neither can I.” She looked at Aaron with affection. “We both are inseparable. Right Aaron?” She extended her hand to him, but he didn’t take it.
Aaron looked at me with a forlorn expression. My wolf whimpered, clawing at me on the inside to stop doing what I was doing. She loved Aaron and his wolf. “Don’t…” he said. “I want to give us a chance.”
“No,” I replied, shaking my head. “I don’t want to give you any more chances, else that’s what my life will become – always giving you a chance. I want to divorce you and move on.”
“Isn’t that perfect, darling?” Vicky cooed. “Venus has finally realized that she is a third wheel in this relationship. Why are you so stuck up on her? Is it because of your parents?”
He lowered his head, his jaw clenching hard.
“I knew it!” Vicky said, as if reading his mind. “But darling, look at me. Look into my eyes.” When Arron lifted his head and looked into his eyes, his eyes widened. She said, “You love me, right? I’m your mate. Divorcing Venus is right. It is a chance for us to be together. We can’t lose this opportunity. In fact, I’ll come with you to the Elders and submit the divorce application. And then-” she squeaked, clasping her hands. “We’ll marry!”
Aaron ran his fingers through his hair. “I don’t know…”
Vicky goaded him, “I know it is best for all of us. Venus tried to barge in our beautiful relationship, and now she has realized that she wants to move on. Isn’t that wonderful?”
Both Alpha Martin and Luna Marie looked beyond disheartened. I could feel their sadness and it made me miserable. They had so many expectations of
- me.
After a few moments of tense silence, Aaron said to Vicky, “Okay, let’s give this a chance! Tonight I’ll go for a run in the woods. Will you be there for me?”
“Awww! Of course, I’ll be there for you!” she replied/placing her hand on her heart.
He sighed. “I don’t know how to go about this, but I’ve waited far too long for this burden to lift from my shoulders. I always felt like Venus was trapped with me, but now that she also wants to be free, who am I to stop her?”
“Exactly!” Vicky squealed.
Arron chuckled. “Okay, see you at night.”
“Great!” Vicky grinned excitedly.

Aaron gave her a tight smile and walked out of there to the bedroom, but he turned on the stairs and added, “If possible, get Gaia, too. I’d like to talk to
Vicky was now super–excited. “Yes, I will. Mom will be ecstatic!”
Aaron nodded and rushed upstairs, leaving me with her. She swayed happily and said, “I’m glad that you have finally come to your senses, Venus. It’s better late than never. As such, your marriage with him would have been a disaster because I would have never given up on him!”
“I know,” I chuckled dryly. “With a sister like you, I can’t expect anything else.”
“You-” she seethed, but I turned and walked to dad’s
sroom.
Aaron POV
I waited for Vicky and Gaia to come to the woods. Czar wanted to run after what I said to Venus in the morning. He hated me for it, and I had to fight him to control him. My wolf was so happy and calm in Venus’s presence and absolutely chaotic in Vicky’s company.
Vicky and Gaia came fifteen minutes later. Gaia looked like she was sick, but she was extremely happy. “Aaron!” She rushed to me and hugged me. “I am so happy that you two have decided to be together. Your mate bond won over the fake marriage with Venus. Don’t take me wrong. I like Venus, but your marriage with her was a disaster.”
I licked my lips and looked at Vicky. “I’m going for a run in the woods. Why don’t you climb me?”
Vicky’s lips parted in joy. “I’d love to!” she said.
“Wonderful. My wolf wants to know you better.” I looked at Gaia and said, “I convinced my father and Patrick to talk to you. They’ll be here any minute. It would give me pleasure if you’d climb Patrick’s wolf and run with us. It’s a kind of ritual.”
“Absolutely!” Gaia said. “I’ve been dying to meet Patrick, and was afraid that he didn’t want to see me. This will be the perfect opportunity.”
“Cool!” I breathed. “To a new beginning!”
“Yes!” Vicky squealed.
I chuckled, and then gave my skin to Czar, asking him to behave. Vicky sat on me after I lowered myself to the ground. As I padded my way to the woods, I heard Patrick and dad come. Vicky squealed in ecstasy when I took off. Patrick and dad followed us.
I came to a stop near a creek where the water was shallow. Over there, I lowered myself to the ground and Vicky got down. Patrick and Alpha Martin also came, and when Gaia alighted, they both shifted.
Grinning, Vicky came to me as the men wore jeans. “Aaron,” she chirped. “What next? When are you filing for divorce?”
I bit
my
bottom lip and looked at my father and Patrick.
“What’s next, dad?” I asked.
My father narrowed his eyes at me, and suddenly turned to Gaia and roared, “SHIFT!”
Gaia’s eyes went wide as she paled. My father was an Alpha and with his command, he spilled out his alpha aura. Gaia shook uncontrollably, unable to take the force of his command. Her forehead broke into a cold sweat as she dropped on her fours. She looked at Patrick for help, wondering what just happened, but Patrick crossed his arms across his chest and roared, “Shift!”
Vicky froze in her spot. “D—daddy?” she rasped. “M–mom is unwell.”
“SHIFT!” my father roared. “NOW!”
