Chapter 9
I smiled and shook my head, turning him down.
“Atlas. Whatever we had… it’s over.”
“I’m finally moving on, and I hope you never show up in front of me again.”
‘Atlas, it’s too late for all of this.”
‘If you’d just looked at me once at that wedding, if you’d asked me how I was doing, I would’ve waited for you without hesitation.”
‘But not anymore.”
Atlas bent over in pain, his eyes full of agony. He opened his mouth but couldn’t get a single word out.
Eventually, he left.
Just like I wanted, he never appeared again.
On our first day living together, Logan threw all my medication in the trash.
‘Celeste, when you’re with me, you don’t need any of this useless shit.”
Seeing the slight smile on his lips, I pretended not to understand. “What if I relapse?”
Logan grinned and teased, “Go crazy?”
laughed, a soft warmth blooming in my chest.
n his eyes, I was just a completely normal person.
When Bella was five months pregnant, she reached out to me again.
thought it over and finally decided to meet her.
It had been almost three months since I’d seen her. Her belly was bigger, but she still carried herself with the same righteous arrogance.
Her gaze was distant and cold. She spoke first.
‘I know everything now. Atlas is the boyfriend you spent three years looking for.”
She paused for a moment, then continued.

Chapter 9
“If it were anyone else, I wouldn’t even apologize. It would be her fault for not being able to keep the man she loved.
I was just fighting for what I deserved.”
“I don’t think I did anything wrong.”
“But… it’s you, Celeste. I still don’t want to apologize to you.”
“I stole your man without knowing the truth. Yeah, it was pretty shitty of me.”
“But if I can’t get your forgiveness, Atlas won’t give a damn about me.”
I raised an eyebrow slightly, my expression calm. “Your problems with him have nothing to do with me.”
Bella’s nails dug into her palms as she softened her voice for the first time.
“Celeste, I’m sorry.”
“I love him. My baby can’t grow up without a father.”
“Even knowing about your past together, I still can’t leave him. I saved his life once. As long as I don’t ask for a
divorce, he’ll never leave me.”
“For the sake of… for the sake of those three years when I helped you out, just forgive me. Please.”
I didn’t say anything. I just stared into her eyes for a long time.
She had changed.
The Bella I remembered was bright, cheerful, warm–hearted, and righteous. She loved and hated boldly.
And she never begged anyone for anything.
This was the first time. Because of Atlas, she was bowing her head.
used to love Atlas desperately. I went crazy for three years and wasted three years of my life.
I hated Bella for it.
But now she was just like I used to be. Atlas had become her obsession too.
I gave her the New York apartment.
It was the one I’d decorated in Atlas’s style, but I didn’t need it anymore.
Consider it a gift for her baby.
As for forgiveness…

I don’t think I’ll ever be able to forgive her.
Three months later, Logan and I got married.
On the day we got our marriage license, the weather was beautiful. What should’ve been an hour drive somehow took him two hours of taking scenic routes.
I wanted to yell at him several times but held back.
At city hall, he dragged out what should’ve been a thirty–minute process into a full hour.
I finally lost it. “If you don’t want to get married, just say it!”
Logan’s mouth twitched, and he got annoyed too.
“Hey, who do you think I’m being so extra for? You only get married once – I wanted to make it special and I get
bitched at for it.”
I took a deep breath and let him do his thing.
Walking out of city hall, I felt dazed for a moment.
I used to dream about coming here with Atlas countless times.
Four years later, here I was again.
But I married someone else.
A year later, I had a daughter.
Logan absolutely adored her. He named her Amara Blake.
asked him once if there was any special meaning behind it.
He looked at me for a long time and smiled.
Because it means forever–and I intend to keep that promise to you.”
I smiled back.
Yeah.
I promise you a lifetime too.
